Bryant corner has long been my favorite brunch spot. Great atmosphere, good food. I am grateful to the new owner for keeping the place afloat, however with new ownership has come a marked decrease in quality of service. Orders have frequently been wrong, missing ingredients, and have been improperly upcharged. Still a solid brunch spot.
My friend and I came to this spot to have breakfast. I ordered the Sunflour Breakfast, which was listed as 16.75 on their menu and website. The plate was mediocre, eggs were tasteless, sausages seems like the same packaged ones you get from a grocery store. When we got the check, they charged me $19.75 instead of 16.75 like their menu. I asked our server about it and they told me that they recently changed the menu prices and the new price is 19.75 and apologized for the confused. However, they didn’t even correct the price on my receipt since I ordered the dish assuming this was the price . To this day, their website menu is still says 16.75 and I’m not sure whether our server just lied to us so they didn’t need to correct it.
This place just isn't quite as good as it used to be. They were out of sausage and the kitchen never let the wait staff know. The red potatoes were overdone and cold, oddly very dark brown. The pancakes were ok, but the florentine Benedict was quite good.
Oh boy. No no no. Met a friend there for lunch this afternoon. There must have been eight employees standing around at the front counter doing nothing. We sat down and waited for a very long time before anyone bothered to even greet us. We finally order and the food takes twenty five minutes. The fries taste bland like the cheap frozen ones you find in the back of the freezer at 7-11 and have to be high to want. The sandwich was flavorless: just a ball of spinach not even distributed over the stale bread. I couldn’t finish it. I finally gave up and just paid the bill. It was over $50 for a diner breakfast of awful food. But past that, I asked for tartar sauce and he kept forgetting, my friend couldn’t coffee to save his life, the table behind us gave up and was serving themselves because the employees were standing around on their phones. Throughout our meal there was a spill on the floor near us: some bread, hash browns, butter, fruit and ketchup. I counted nine employees clock the mess on the floor and walk over it or around it. In one case, a short woman with dark hair actually made a customer move her chair so that this employee wouldn’t have to deal with the mess. It was vile. Vile. Can we just talk about $50 for a sloppy, boring, bland breakfast in a place where the employees were stuck in their phones ignore customers and sanitation??? How did we get here?!!!???
Incredible service, waiter was so nice! Food came fast and was delicious :) prices are also incredibly reasonable, especially for the quality of the food.
Great staff and quick service. The owner aims to please.
The place is falling apart. Literally, seat upholstery is coming off in your hands, the tables rock back and forth, etc. We sat down and were not served basic things like coffee for over 30 mins. The items we wanted to order were not available. What we did order was a big departure from comparable meals we’d consumed in the past. When the food finally did come, much of it was missing. We never received several of the items and my wife had to walk up front to ask for them. Even after all of that, a couple things never showed up. Everyone there (both patrons and workers) were stressed, both seemingly feeling behind in their respective days. Eventually just walked up to the front to find any employee we could to pay the check like at Denny’s circa 1990 and get out of there.
Excellent local spot with a variety of good, basic dishes and a few others thrown in with some flair. You won't leave hungry but you may have a wait at busy times. Outdoor seating is right by the street. Usually filled with locals since it is right in the middle of a busy and popular neighborhood. The above was my original review from some time ago. Unfortunately, things have changed. This place may have reopened, but nobody seems to be working. Neither phone number I found works-one was no longer in service and the other key saying it was busy-and I couldn’t place an order beforehand. So, I made my way to the restaurant to order in person. There are only two tables with people and the guy supposedly working the counter was too busy talking to one of them to take my order even after someone from the back told him a customer was waiting and I walked out. If you have poor service, it stands to reason you’re gonna close because nobody wants to go there.
Like the other review, the food is below average. I don't know if it's like this everyday, but it was so smoky/hazy in the resturant. Their ventilation is terrible. I had hard time keeping my eyes open. I do not recommend this place.
