Truluck's Ocean's Finest Seafood & Crab

Excellent seafood. Best I have had in DC. Surprisingly reasonable price for the high quality of seafood and service. The atmosphere is beautiful. We received a welcoming and accommodating reception. A group of 10 gathered impromptu to celebrate the birthday of a friend visiting from out-of-town so it was a mix of who was having cocktails and a toast and who was having a full meal and wine. We were given tables in a private area and the service staff graciously accommodated everyone. Thank you Truluck's for making our evening special.

I took my wife out for her birthday, and she said it was the best restaurant she had ever been to. Everything was lovely, from the atmosphere to the service. The food was also A1.

Came here for our wedding anniversary and we absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic and our waitress was wonderful. Well worth every penny!

The food here is delicious. I'm vegan and was happy to see a plant based section at a seafood restaurant!!! The staff was super kind and the ambiance was such an experience with the live singer on the piano. Will certainly be back soon. Special thanks to Charlie!

I am livid as I type this review. It’s very disappointing to even leave a negative review of a restaurant that I enjoy a lot. I call in an order, and when I arrive to pick it up (on my limited lunch break, as I too work in a restaurant) I’m told the order wasn’t placed because it’s from a menu that is unavailable today, and there is a price difference. The hostess informs me that I can order it, but the price will be different. First of all, why wouldn’t that be indicated on the menu online; secondly, why would the hostess or whoever took the order, not inform me of this initially; and lastly, why not prepare the order if you know the guest is on the way. The hostess claims she called, but my phone didn’t ring at all nor do I have a voicemail. I’m already spending upwards of $40 on lunch, not including gratuity. Do you really think I would have cared about the additional $10-12 my meal would have cost?! The amount of inexperienced, thoughtless staff in the industry post-Covid is infuriating. Needless to say, I’m going back to work (where I serve food) starving.

What an experience! Wanted a no-occasion date out with my wife, and this was it in spades. The drinks, appetizers, food selections and freshness were all top notch. Incredibly clean, the staff was attentive (not overwhelming) and knowledgeable. The menu speaks for itself, hardest part of the meal was selecting items we wanted to share. Lobster, King Crab, crab claws, bisque - it was all done to perfection. My beef selection was completed exactly as ordered and could have been cut with a fork. The live piano player was not overpowering, you knew he was there, but still able to have a conversation without it being the conversation. Highly recommend!
