I haven’t had jerk since moving to San Antonio 2 years ago, so was very happy to find this spot! I think the food was very good, but I was not prepared for how expensive it was! I got the chicken snack with Mac and cheese and my friend got the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was not worth no $40 meal. The lady taking the orders seemed like she didn’t want to be there either. It being my first time there I asked a question about the sides and she just left me with more questions. The food is great, but I’ll have to leave it for once every 6 months or something.
It was our first time and we loved it! We will go back definitely!
I ain't even gonna lie... I wanted to hate but I couldn't. Best jerk chicken I've ever had in the state of Texas. Better than anything I had in Houston. Yes it's better then cool runnings and several other spots
Everything thing was outstanding. The only thing I could suggest is for dining in,maybe some real silverware. Otherwise, highly recommend.
OMG this place was amazing!!! The seasoning of the jerk chicken was delicious, spicy and fried perfectly. All the sides we tried were phenomenal!!! Highly recommend the Marsala fries!! (Not pictured but my friend ordered them)
We took a 10 minute drive to the Jerk Shack, pretty excited to have some Jamaican food after a long time without quality Jamaican. We tried to order meat patties and oxtail, they were out of both, about 2 hours before closing. Settled for some Jerk chicken and Jerk chicken tacos, as well as some fries. The entire cost was nearly $70, which is pretty crazy for 3 pieces of jerk drumsticks, Mac and cheese, 3 tacos and rolls. My wife thought the tacos were great, but the Mac and cheese was typical stuff at best. The jerk chicken I had was too spicy hot and not enough allspice. The rolls were basic with some honey butter drizzle. I came back a couple days later to try the beef patties, pulled up to the window, only to be told I can’t order from there. So I pulled into the parking lot, ordered online, then drove back to the drive through 5 minutes later after they filled the order. If we go back, it would be for meat patties, but I doubt we will do that when they charge $10 for two of these things that shouldn’t be more than $3 each.
