Want to preface that I have only ever ordered through UberEats and have not yet eaten at the actual restaurant. I usually don’t like to order at the same spot more than once with all the choices available for delivery but Blue Rat is an exception! I’ve ordered several times already and will probably keep ordering again and again. The name may not sound appetizing but the food says otherwise. I had a good feeling from the pictures that it would be a delicious. You know that satisfying feeling when you have a vivid idea of what a dish should taste like and the food you order not only meets but EXCEEDS your expectations? That’s what Blue Rat gave to me. It’s sooo good that I wanted to cry happy tears lol. I haven’t been able to take photos of the food because I would finish it before I remember to take pictures. The Beef Pad See Ew and Three Tastes Fish are my absolute faves and can’t get enough of it. Even after the food sits for a while to get delivered, the food tastes fresh and the fish is still crispy. Mind you, we’re about 30 min away from the restaurant. I can’t wait to dine in and taste the food right after it’s prepared. I can’t imagine how much more fresh it can get. 11/10 recommend!!
Menu looks incredible. Took the day off for lunch and door was locked. LED sign was lit as Open, analog sign was closed. Hours said open. Frustrated to go out out of my way to try something new and to have to walk away.
Top notch Thai food! Highly recommend! We didn't plan on coming here but the other place nearby was closed. Dining in isn't well prepared for here at Blue Rat but the food was amazing. I had pineapple fried rice and the touches of shaved pork and diced pork sausage in addition to my shrimp was just amazing. My husband really enjoyed his Pad Thai and our friend enjoyed his Chinese broccoli with pork belly. Our portions were nicely sized, I still have enough of mine left for another meal. The Thai tea was legit, nice and creamy with a nice rich flavor! I'm not sure if I'd dine in again but I'll 100% do takeout or delivery, I can't wait for my next opportunity!
How…. Disappointing. I had high hopes for this place.. i dont know if they’re under staffed or what’s going on. But we waited 2 hours for our food. And once it arrived it was so basic. Ordered the pad see ew and the majority of the dish was raw bell peppers.. very underwhelming. My friend ordered the Thai noodle soup and it tasted like spicy water with raw veggies.. there was barely any flavor. This is my first bad restaurant review and I hate writing bad reviews but it really was a bad experience :/
We recently moved out to Garland. We tend to go to a particular restaurant and Addison because we moved from Dallas, far north Dallas. We started with the eggrolls, vegetarian, and the dipping sauce was phenomenally good and tasted like it had honey in it! My wife got the Green Chili at level three heat and I always do noodles so I ordered the Drunken noodles at Thai style level eight. Both meals were quite tasty and I ordered mine without sugar so for me that was really wonderful. However, at the place we go Addison my wife green chili usually comes with eggplant and she missed that even though there were a lot of vegetables in there. And I forgot to say undercooked everything from the tofu to the noodles to the vegetables I like things closer to raw. I didn’t change that. They worked really hard to get it there, and the foods that we have mentioned are very very good. You like Thai food, I would highly recommend coming to this restaurant, there is an absolutely delicious experience and should be shared with others, they deserve that, they work very hard to make you feel serviced bring you good food, and it was very clean, and I mean very clean enjoy, they have a large menu and they know what they’re doing when it comes to food and service and cleanliness! Vegetarian options: This visit was the only time I asked the server to go no salt on my pad. Kee mao (Drunken noodles) and it was delicious, everyone else uses sugar to Americanize it and I appreciate the cooperation! My wife wished that the green chili dish had had eggplant as well. She is used to, and level three was lightweight for her. She was hoping that the next time we’ll just order level four, but that’s not a big deal! Food was delicious or are very generous and I have a feeling that since we arrived very late that may have had something to do with it so we’re going to arrive earlier next time, yet, they fed us nine well, that we would leave late, and that was very considerate of them. We both agreed that it is very tasty Thai food, and I carry two pair of chopsticks with me for the last 15 years, I learned when I was 18 and I’m 64 grand 65 seven so I enjoy asian food and mostly noodles and things I can pick up with chopsticks because I love chopsticks and they did deliver what we asked for however, my level eight for me was more like a level five period that doesn’t mean it didn’t taste good and have some spark. It’s just not the level of heat that I like , and obviously the same for my wife. That does not decreased the quality of the food. It was quite tasty, we don’t always have to have the heat levels, although I do like them, and the food is what you must consider, and it was very, very good ! They are very kind and very considerate, and they want to serve you properly, and that rates highly in our books! This is a restaurant, that, if you like Thai food, you really need to visit!
