Have you ever tried traditional Nicaraguan food? This was a first for me but I absolutely loved it! @gallopinto.ga is located across from Poor Richard’s off Cleveland Highway and is owned by a local family who was kind enough to invite me into their space and let me try their favorite dishes. If you are wanting to sample their menu, I highly recommend getting the Caballo Bayo. They have a 2 person or 4 person option and it comes with a little bit of everything! There is fried cheese, chicharrones, sausage, Churrasco steak, chicken, eggs, fried plantains, sweet plantains, and so much more. You can’t forget to order the Fresco de Cacao! They import fresh cacao beans from Nicaragua and grind them up with milk to make their Fresco and it is unlike anything I’ve ever had.
The hardest pieces of something that they call meat (carne). 18$ for that. Terrible. My dog liked it though.
I'm a travel worker and with the family so to find a place from my roots is always great. The difference here is the attention to detail and the welcoming they give you all around. The food was delicious and the music and decorations just made me feel like I was in Nicaragua. We loved everything about this restaurant. The servers were the best attention I've received. Food was so good I had to take a sopa de res for the road. Lol Parking: The least of your worries. Kid-friendliness: They treated my child like family.
