Actually i love the foods in fact that eventhough the taste isnt that authentic (i'm south east asian) but it's decent or close enough with generous portion. It's 4/5.
The experience was just ruined by the lady (idk she's the owner or the waitress) came to us just before we left, she demanded the 'mandatory' tip pointing at the 18% 'suggested' gratuity. Gratuity always means voluntarily amount of money given by the customer. And suggested/suggestions meaning that it's not mandatory. She even counted the tip in front of us and begged more cash for the tip.
she asked us where we come from and explained that if we live in 'new york' we had to be getting the hang of giving the tip of minimum 18%. She explained in malay as we understood her language, so she's assuming we're just new to the city. but she didnt know that most of the times we crawled to other michelin restaurants and other south east asian restaurants here in nyc and the fact that we'd never got such of bad hospitality until we came here.
It's rude! Never come back again for sure 😅
Good food, cash only place!!
Front desk employees are very rude and disrespectful not working properly service very slow order takes long time
Best food I've enjoyed during my NYC trip. Ordered the fish head with salted cabbage soup and pork ribs curry. This place is a must if you enjoy Malaysian food!
Food was a bit salty in general. Not as authentic as I hoped for . Services was so so. Counting tips in front of you. Cash only.
4.3?? Find me a better hainan chicken rice in NYC. I’ll wait. This place deserves 10 stars.
Good choice of Malay food. Recommended.
Cash only. Hainanese Chicken is a bit blend. The Indian roti appetizer with chicken curry was awesome!
Amazing food, staff were quite considerate. Very authentic Malaysian food. Only cash. The sour plum drink was amazing.
Best Malaysian I've ever had
