Miro Spanish Grille

We have always had this restaurant as one of our favorites in Charlotte for Spanish Food and it has improved over the years. We went there for the live music as well as the food, they had a Flamenco Guitarist and he was excellent. I had a Stuffed eggplant that was quite good, cooked just right with rice that was very good. The server was attentive. There was a good crowd. My boyfriend had the chicken with a mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes, it was good as well. I also had expresso, it was very good. The server brought around a dessert tray and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the 10 desserts, we ended up having the Tiramasu, it was wonderful! We will definetely be back!

Love this place. Osobucco and paella are both fire.

Great food and wine

Based on my experience working, living in and visiting Spain, the food at Miro is ok at best, uninspired and not authentically Spanish.

We love Miro. Carl was our server this evening. He is excellent -- extremely knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. Carl got to know our interests in food and wine and provided outstanding guidance that made for an outstanding dinner. Miro is fortunate to have Carl representing their menu and the restaurant's outstanding choices of food and wine. We highly recommend Miro.

Miro is a great authentic Spanish restaurant in Ballantyne. Their sangria is delicious and they have wonderful seafood options. The coconut cake is incredibly delicious!

My padre is from Ecuador and he loves Paella dishes of all kinds. He talked about trying this establishment for a good bit and finally talked us into it. The atmosphere visually was stunning, but the first thing that we noticed was the scent of old mop head, as though someone had mopped the floors with a sour mop the night before. It wasn't horrendous, but it was constantly noticeable while we dined. He/we enjoyed the food, though it wasn't quite what he was expecting. The mussels within the Paella had a very fishy taste and aroma (they weren't inedible, just more pungent than expected), though overall the meal was good otherwise. As you can see from the pictures, there wasn't much difference in size from the "Large" and the "small" versions of the plate (though there is a hefty cost difference). Service was nice and friendly. We might try it again, but it will have to be something that my padre really, really wants to go for to get us here again. Hopefully they have a new mop next time.
