The restaurant focuses on the atmosphere and decoration. The food is good but nothing extraordinary or fancy. There is too much marketing around this place that does not meet expectations.
It's a hidden gem located a few blocks from Georgetown's main shopping street, which is well-known to locals. This tavern serves the best lobster roll I have ever tasted, with generous amounts of freshly cooked lobster meat on a bed of tasty buns. I also tried their meatloaf, made using their version of mom's favorite recipe topped with fresh mushroom gravy, and it was delicious. The place has an old charm with a historic feel that creates a cozy atmosphere, which makes it perfect.
Nice place, great service but almost zero vegetarian option on the menu
Let me just start off by saying this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at restaurant! It was our first trip to DC and we made reservations in advance hoping to snag the coveted “Proposal Booth” and we got it!!! The manager Louis was so kind and welcoming! Our server was Araya and let me just say if you are lucky enough to get her as your server be prepared for a treat! She is so friendly, prompt, and gives excellent food recommendations! The espresso martini… do it! French onion was heavenly!! The place is so quaint and cozy! It’s awesome to eat in a restaurant with so much history! Thank you for making this such memorable moment for me and my daughter!
Class act. The intro with history of celebrities was a bit much, but excellent quality and service!
