Food is excellent and plentifully portioned, and service is friendly, although lacking in some of the natural attentiveness that I would attribute to seasoned wait staff. The ordering process was a little awkward, as they do not have paper menus, so we were directed to look on our phones for the menu via a QR code on the table. This involved getting the wi-fi password from the server for both our phones, as their server is password protected and we do not have data plans. My phone is not the first thing I want to be looking at on date night with my wife. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our time at this small Thai restaurant and the people were very pleasant. The Veg fried spring rolls (2 per order) were fresh and crispy, but did not burn our mouths; the lemongrass soup with coconut milk (chicken) was flavourful and hearty with a little heat that I hadn't expected in the broth. The yellow curry was very filling, and I took home leftovers for lunch the next day!
Got take out here. Blown away with quality and portion size
Great food pleasant staff!!! Will go back before heading back to BC.
Stumbled across this place. Looked clean & bit of change from usual pub/busy/loud options. Was great choice! Food was really well prepared and full of authentic flavour. Service was quick, friendly and attentive…all without us really noticing they were there. Price was very reasonable/affordable. I’ll be back for sure and be recommending to friends.
Live in the area and have frequented Lemongrass for a few years but this place has taken a few steps back recently and is no longer worth the trip for a decent dinner. Service has become a negative: being sat at dirty tables or uneven tables with cardboard holding them up, the server eating at the counter while not taking customers orders for 20-30m, server not able to understand questions about menu changes or just not wanting to answer, serving pre-portioned items still in the plastic portion containers on top of a plate, rejecting customers 1.5h before closing, putting the chairs on tables an hour before closing with customers still waiting for their food, etc. It's always been a no frills type of restaurant (one of the previous servers wore sweat pants) and typically I would say that their food quality outweighs the poor service but today our food had raw/undercooked potato and the skin of an onion in it. Maybe they have new management or went through turnover of employees but this place is no longer worth going to, especially with other restaurants in the area willing to put some effort into your experience.
During Covid Lockdowns we placed a take out order for few things, when we came to pick it up it wasn’t ready. As we waited for our order in the shop their “young” chef with his winter jacket came storming in through the front door with his girlfriend looked super inconvenienced by the order, he had to do a double take with his unimpressed face before heading into the kitchen LOL When we got home we came to find out our papaya salad was MOSTLY TOMATOES. The impression we got from our experience; they’re inconvenienced, chef is inexperienced, don’t care for repeated customers.
Phenomenal cooking and flavours. Perhaps the one asian joint in town which can respect a sea food allergy. Recommend the green curry although all the curries are great. Highly recommend!
Super fresh & tasty tofu basil dish!! Owner is very nice. Will be back!
Lemongrass has been my go-to in Ottawa for many years. The flavors are authentic whether dine-in or takeout, it tastes equally delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the service exceptional. A must-visit for anyone craving delicious Thai cuisine. Five stars well-deserved!
