The smell of smoke stokes your appetite.
Tsedenia was our server at J. Gilbert’s McLean, and she made the experience an excellent one. She was an accommodating server; she was attentive, polite, and patient. J.Gilbert’s offers an upscale dining experience. The food is delicious, but the service is what stood out the most. The hostess and our server noticed how stressed I was dealing with a suddenly very fussy baby; they both reassured me that we weren’t taking away from the dining experience of others. Additionally, they offered to seat us in a quiet corner of the restaurant (I was very nervous and unsettled, feeling terrible) just so I would stay and enjoy the luncheon after they heard me say I should leave. No matter what you order, GET DESSERT 🤗🩷
Absolutely out favorite steakhouse in the area. Amazing service amd great food in an upscale, yet warm and welcoming environment.
This is our favorite spot for family gatherings for brunch. The wait staff are so personable and friendly. The manager Misty came to our table to say hello on many of our Sunday Brunches. The food selection and quality of the food was impeccable. Each time we returned with a fresh plate our tables were cleaned and waters were refilled.
My dining experience was nothing short of spectacular! I started with their calamari, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. It had a delightful seasoning that elevated the dish without overpowering the natural flavor of the calamari. Absolutely delicious!
I paired the meal with a smoked old fashioned, and it was spot on. The balance of bourbon, bitters, and sweetness was perfect, making it one of the best Old Fashioneds I’ve had in a long time. The bartender clearly knows what they’re doing, and the attention to detail was evident.
The ambiance was cozy yet sophisticated, and the service was top-notch. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Misty and Xavier were so welcoming and professional. Good management says a lot about how an establishment is ran and I can’t wait to return for another fantastic meal! Highly recommend!
Went to dinner there last night with my wife. The service was incredible as soon as we walked through the doors. We were immediately met with smiling faces from the host staff and were taken back to our table by Misty. Misty and Xavier kept going around and checking on everyone’s tables and the service was top notch.
The steak was perfectly cooked and the drinks were to die for! Will always recommend this place!
This is one of my favorite restaurants! Everyone is always so welcoming and there is just such a great atmosphere. The signature cocktails they offer are some of the most delicious drinks I’ve ever had. The lobster macaroni and cheese is so good! The servers are always wonderful and accommodating. Misty and Xavier are so great and we love coming back to J Gilbert’s!
Wonderful meal, great service from Benjamin 😀 classy atmosphere.
Fantastic brunch! Food was delicious, staff was great, and Misty the manager really made sure our experience was good one!
Atmosphere is a delight warm and cozy. The staff very helpful and friendly. Great variety of food choices. Worth the money.
Old school restaurant with old school feel in old McLean
Stopped in here for a bite of food tonight for the first time.
This is the pork chop.
It was excellent, top quality and just all around good.
The portion size was crazy.
You are almost guaranteed to have to take some thing home with you.
I will be returning to try the rest of the menu.
I highly recommend this fine establishment.
While the Food is always good at J. Gilbert (Glastonbury), the last 2 times have been a major disappointment. The pressure to seat us (had a reservation) to getting us through dinner was abysmal. The entire staff did their best to turn the table over in 45 minutes, the previous time 55 minutes. I like to take my time when I am spending significant money. The food was on top of the appetizers in what I would say was 20 minutes from the time we sat down and that is being generous. They no sooner put dinner on the table when they were asking about desert. Would have a hard time going back.
