Met a friend for drinks and apps. We arrived about 5 mins before they opened and there were quite a few people queued up already. No acknowledgement from the hostess who stood at the hostess desk in the small entry way and did her best to ignore us while standing in front of us shuffling and reshuffling menus while two managers looked on intently. We both struggled to find something on the menu that seemed appetizing. Ended up with sushi and, while relatively fresh, the taste profile was a bit over the top. Either way too spicy with limited flavor, or covered over with fried bits and sauces with limited flavor. Drinks were okay - small pours for both of our cocktails. Service was mediocre. Server was either hovering or absent most of the time. They take your credit card before your order is placed, but don’t keep track of which card goes to which table. We informed server up front that the two of us were paying separately - she said that was not a problem. However, when paying the bill a different server (after finally finding the right card), kept asking us if we just wanted to split the bill down the middle “because the system was difficult to navigate”. It’s a rooftop, but not a particularly interesting view. It’s probably better at night, we went just as they opened on a Saturday. Really tempted to give this place one star.
Exceptional booking for a birthday drink and dinner at Hestia. Very nice view and ambiance. Friendly, attentive staff are always near by for questions and service. They were upfront that our drinks may take a few minutes as the bar was busy and they only had a single, new bartender. This was not a problem and was a good heads up, and let us enjoy our view for a little bit, and we had full glasses of water and a menu to look at. We had 2 drinks, 2 apps, and 2 meals. Everything was exceptional in flavor and freshness. My only suggestion is with the scallop appetizer, it was AMAZING but there is only 1 scallop. I'd much rather see a higher priced option with 3 scallops. They treated us very well for a birthday dinner and we will be back. A+ on the food and service.
Great service and good food
The food is very good, I Recommend wagyu tacos as a appetizer, wagyu fried rice, and filet mignon. Aldo the drinks are delicious (lichy and mezcal is good)
The food was pretty good, the service was okay. The drinks were awesome. You'll definitely pay for the ambiance. Nice restaurant, but it lacks some of the basics that you'd expect (i.e. valet, coat check etc.)
This restaurant was an experience. Which is a pleasant break from the norm. The food was amazing. They seemed a little understaffed, but the food and experience more than made up for waiting and extra couple minutes for someone to come by. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
Restaurant is beautiful. Just what you would expect at a nice new restaurant. The ambience was a little disappointing. At the sushi bar there was a young man with sweat pants and a jersey on, his two daughters probably ages two and four with no shoes on. He ordered them Shirley temples and they were eating crackers and they were blowing whistles. He was not eating or drinking anything. I thought it was suspicious why he would even be there in the first place since he was not eating. Everyone at the restaurant seemed to cater to him. Our table and the tables around him, including the people sitting next to them at the sushi bar were all looking around and we each even said something to the servers that were serving us. I felt like we were on the show. What Would You Do? The whistles were very distracting and hard to deal with. Now onto the food. The presentation was beautiful. But I don't think it's anything spectacular. It's pricey. I wouldn't say I will go back for anything in particular. But it was good. Our server was great! She filled our drinks and was attentive.
Our server was polite, professional, very knowledgeable and provided service with a smile. She made our first time visit very memorable. Both the food and drinks were amazing! We will definitely be back.
