Gil's Broiler & Manske Roll Bakery

This San Marcos favorite has been in business for seemingly forever. While I do like the chili burger quite a bit, the real winner is the manske roll. They also have independent soda companies on tap that are novel and fun when compared to your typical coke.

Food was good, the tater tots were really crispy which I liked. Got Manske rolls to go and froze then when I got home. Heated one up today and it was muy deliciously.

I can’t say anything about the other food. I didn’t know people came here for anything other than THE ROLLS. If I was stuck on an island and could only have two things it would be Texas Roadhouse Rolls and Manske Rolls.

Great, handmade burgers. Have to save room for a manske roll. They are big enough to share but you won't want to.

Overall the burger was good. I liked the smaller brioche style bun. The meat was a bit overcooked. I ordered the onion rings , they could have been delicious but, burned & too salty. I wished I could give a better review. The first time I ate at Gil’s Broiler was 1972. I’ll try the Manske Rolls next time. Thank you Parking: I spent more time trying to park. About 30 min. More than the time I was actually eating. Would be nice if there was a parking garage.
