Went for my sisters 50th birthday.. had some drinks and food.. food I thought was overpriced for what it was... burger was suppose to he homemade, but it didn't taste homemade to me (others in the party thought the same) looked and tasted just like every other standard pub burger, came with a small portion of chips and some relise.. but for more than £20 i would have expected it to be better.. cocktails were nice, pricy, but nice... services was friendly, but slow... overall I was disappointed for the money we spent
Nice looking place, good service and atmosphere. However, we were disappointed about the food. The Sunday roast (£30) was not seasoned and only tasted of a hint of cinnamon. The meat was tough and not enjoyable. The blood orange cheesecake was mushy and didn’t taste of anything. This was the first time that I couldn’t eat a dessert in a restaurant and had to return it.
Joined for dinner while visiting Oxford for the first time. Had a booking and our table was ready even though we came a bit early. Hostess was nice, got seated straight away and as it wasn't so busy got offered a few table options, which is always nice. From this moment, the service felt a bit rushed, we had servers coming to us multiple times asking if we are ready even though we were obviously still reading through the menus and deciding as the prices are not the lowest and you want to be sure to order the right thing. Starters arrived relatively fast, nettle soup and octopus tasted okay, nothing too special. However, the mains took a very long time. A large table of 6pax, who ordered after us recieved their mains before us even though they have finished their starters after us. I wouldn't be too mad, if it was at least worth it. The crispy chicken cassoulet was soo extremely vinegary, and didn't look like cassoulet at all. Their burger, that they apparently make in-house was tasteless and over-cokeed, as my boyfriend ordered medium rare and recieved medium well, bun tasted like a charcoal from the bottom. Otherwise, dessert was okay and drinks nice. But paying £28 for a chicken disaster and £20 for a screwed up burger seems to be a bit sad. Please, fix your food as it's so overpriced and pretentious. We ended up paying £140 for 2 people and didn't feel satisfied.
This place is also good I like their style of representation and their food is also good
