Authentic cuisine moderate pricing excellent wine list attentive staff recently upgraded outdoor dining areas, great use of space. Agnolotti is my favorite.
I've been a regular here for years. Love Donato and his entire staff. ❤️ Last time I visited also met a friendly couple who not only bought me dinner, but offered to crew me for one of the hardest ultra runs on the planet. So kind!!
We attended a private party here. Lovely setting, and food & service thorough and attentive. Creative passed appetizers & attractive charcuterie boards. Definitely would return for dinner if I didn't live 2000 miles away! Parking: Municipal lot right across the street, paid parking. Choose your preferred amount of time.
Food was good and so was the service Nice quiet place
Slow slow slow. Extremely slow. And favorite part about the meal was the bread they bring out before it.
This establishment is an authentic Italian restaurant situated in downtown Redwood City, offering abundant seating both indoors and outdoors. The menu features a splendid selection of genuine Italian cuisine, along with an impressive array of wines and cocktails. Our office group chose to dine here. We commenced our culinary journey with Moscow Mule, which proved to be just right. Now, onto the dishes: Contorni - Cavolfiore Romanesco: Regrettably, this dish resembled a regular cauliflower, lacking proper roasting. The arrabbiata sauce failed to impress, leaving me at a loss for words. I strongly discourage ordering this. Antipasti: Insalata Radici Noci E Caprino: The crispy caprino cheese stole the show, but it was a single piece within the vegetable salad. Insalata Pollo: The grilled chicken breast was satisfactory. Calamari E Fagioli: The calamari and beans were commendable, but it was not what I had ordered (Tonarelli Al Nero Di Seppia). Insalata Gamberi: Prawns outshone the grilled chicken, grilled to perfection with a usual salad. Pasta Fatta: Spaghetti Carbonara: A cheesy delight, exceptionally creamy. A must-try for cheese and cream enthusiasts. La Carne e Pesce: Branzino E Porri: Grilled Sea Bass Fillet was impeccably prepared. The sauce and braised sweet leeks were delightful. However, no extras like salad were included. Panini: Piadina Di Verdure: Unfortunately, a disappointing dish. It featured a bland medley of roasted veggies in a panini. Best avoided. Finished off with Tiramisu which was just okay. While the experience was quite expensive, it is only truly enjoyable when the right items are selected from the menu.
I could overlook at lot of the shortcomings here if the food was exceptional, alas, no. PRO: - Looks like a cool place to get a drink CON: - My takeout was almost $80 for 2 mains and 1 dessert - Food was ok, just ok. I expect more when I see rave reviews - Exactly WHERE are you supposed to park here? One small parking lot across the street doesn't do the job - Panacotta was odd. How do you mess up Panacotta?!! SUMMARY: - Overhyped Italian food that I can make at home is. not what I thought I would be getting.
