My first time here this week, I had been craving ropa vieja FOREVER & finally got myself a plate. The food was delicious, the ambiance is beautiful but the service was just bad. I worked in the service industry for almost a decade, I don’t like to criticize how I am served at other places because often times it’s more than just the server’s fault for poor service. But I was honestly really disappointed here. We started out with one server but once he took our drink orders we were assigned a different server (I assume it was shift change) Our new server didn’t introduce herself, didn’t ask if we needed anything, and didn’t offer us any of the bread/butter starter, she just stated that our drinks would be out shortly and quickly left. We got our drinks but she didn’t come to check on us despite walking past our table several times. We waited 30 minutes & ultimately I had to wave at her from behind the bar to come take our order. After we ordered our food came pretty quickly & my inner child was very happy to finally have my meal. It was pretty busy when we arrived so I had a feeling things would be a little slow but she was just standing behind the bar talking to her coworkers. Not very attentive to her tables at all. The rest of the staff check on us a few times, our food came out quickly as did our drinks so I don’t believe this is one of this cases where she was set up to fail. Her service was just bad. It put us in a bad mood.
The drinks were great overall, and the food was delicious. I wouldn't call it a casual resturant because the prices were higher than those of a typical casual restaurant. The decoration is beautiful, and the staff are amazing. Our waitress was Elissa, and she was so kind and professional.
