As soon as I walked in the door I received a very warm and heartfelt greeting. My waiter was very attentive and gave me great food and cocktail options. My food was delicious and so filling. The homemade hummus and chips, oh my goodnesss they were good. My cocktail was so tasty and refreshing. The restaurant had a cozy vibe. I really enjoyed my dinning experience.
Overall food was ok. It came out lukewarm. I ordered a donut and it was harder than a rock. My server was okay but not very friendly.
The food was delicious and great atmosphere.
The drinks are amazing and the food is good, too! I'll be back or whatever!
My first visit at Church and Union was very underwhelming. Most of the food came out lukewarm and was just ok. I selected my dishes from the prix fixe menu. I ordered the chicken karrage for the first course. The chicken tasted like it came from a bag at the local grocery store with bland shredded cabbage and came out lukewarm. Then I ordered the miso short rib for the main course with brussel sprouts and the short rib dish was ok as it was lukewarm as well. My beau said that the brussel sprouts tasted as if they were fried yesterday and reheated before coming to the table. They weren’t hot either. Lastly, I had the Sweet Home Carolina flourless chocolate cake and it was pretty good. Nothing bad to say here. My beau ordered the lamb burger and it was average. The fries were not hot when delivered to the table either. Our server was pretty busy and provided decent service. I told him that we had a jazz concert in an hour and fifteen minutes and he delivered. Overall, I had higher hopes for my first, and probably my last, visit to Church and Union. Dietary restrictions: I appreciate that they have gluten free items marked on their menu or can make adjustments to make certain items gluten free. Parking: Parking is unavailable and difficult to find on evenings and weekends. You have to find street parking or pay to park in a nearby garage.
Some tasty treats, beautiful decor, eccentric vibes and great customer service is found a church in union in charlotte. We lived the food variety, the warm and upbeat vibe and the little touches that made the experience even better. The lamb burger was well seasoned and cooked and garnished to perfection. The crab benedict was flavorful and we'll proportioned. Definitely a favorite spot in Charlotte!!
