La comida es deliciosa pero la persona del mostrador o cajera presta el peor servicio que e tenido
Restaurante de comida salvadorena
I drive up from Monterey County weekly to have their food. Everything I have tried has been delicious! I'm a sucker for the house salsa and the Tripas Tacos! No one is better! Seriously would love a spot down here in Salinas or Seaside or even Watsonville!
Try everything and fall in love with Chaleteco! ♡
Service and food were both great! Loved the pupusas and my carne asada tacos..will recommend and will return again.
Love this place! El Salvadorian is a fantastic change of pace from Mexican food with all the awesome latin flavors, and these guys nail it again and again. And while you can get a taco or papusa as one-offs, if you order full plates they actually put some care into plating and presentation. They bring lots of awesome different salsas to the table too. The staff has been super helpful and very attentive every time we've been there.
Feels like most of the lower reviews are either griping about prices (we're in Silicon Valley folks...nothing is cheap) from over a year ago when they were still getting their service legs under them.
So glad to have them locally! We'll be back again and again.
Tha pupusas are very expensive almost 5 dollars each but is ok ,The thing is, They make very small and little cheese and very thin like tortillas !!
The Salvadorian Rice 🍚 and beans 🫘 were on point! 😋 & that usually tells you a lot. I've grown up with homemade Mexican and Salvadorian rice 🍚.
The Quesadillas Gus is one of my favorite items off the menu so far!
Enchiladas were delicious, tried the 3 different types, and all were acceptable 😋 mole had a kick (spicy) to it even with the complex taste of it being on the sweet side, mmmm 😋. Red sauce was definitely the spiciest. Green was on the milder side.
Service from this place was very friendly, appreciate the cashier always smiling 😃 and being pleasant. It's always a pleasure walking in and being greeted 🤝.
The location of this place is great for business being on the 2 busy intersections. The lot is somewhat small, but parking seems to be available every time I visit. The restaurant is on the small side but not an issue at all. Love how they have the el Pastor being cooked outside with chicharrones being fried up.
I will say it is a bit on the expensive side 💸 but what isn't nowadays in Silicone Valley🏬, shesh!
The platanos(plantain) 🍌 with crema were below mid(mediocre). I normally love these desserts, but not from this place, were burnt and not the authentic taste and texture i was expecting 😢.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend, my whole family loves when I bring food home for this place. Service was on the faster side as well.
Professional. Great Service. Nice food.
The food and the condiments that came with it were good. I had Huarache with Al pastor and a nice, cold, icy glass of Horchata. Both were good. This was one of those rare places where they actual make fresh Al Pastor the way it is supposed to be made : on a vertical broiler(trompo) with a pineapple at the top.
The reason I am giving them 3-stars is because of the way they charged me. To start with, the menu I was handed had absolutely no pricing information; just the menu items and pictures explaining the items. Without pricing information I had a guesstimate on what the final amount should be, but the final amount was way over what I had in mind. I was charged $21.88 for something that should have been $18.50-$19 max. The cashier never gave me a receipt other than the Customer credit card copy. And he wrapped up the transaction so fast and moved on to the next customer, that I had zero chance of double checking with him.
Again it is less about the final amount and more to do with the lack of transparency and perceived dishonesty.
