Cafe Mochi

A group of us went during dinner rush. Many tables were full and that might be why we had to flag down the waiter to get our orders 30 minutes after being seated. That, or he perhaps was new. He didn't check on our table at all during our meal and forgot things like drinks and side plates and dishes for soy sauce. The waitstaff seem to help one another because a different waiter finished the job, bringing us our drinks, keeping our glasses full, and delivering fairly average-tasting food (for sushi) that was not worth the price. If you're going to eat here, best to do it before or after rush hours for a greater chance at better service. Don't heed their website that says they still have Happy Hours. They stopped doing that years ago and should probably update the site.

Sushi was awesome! Definitely some of the best I have had recently. I could tell it was high quality. The hamachi kama was excellent too.

Seven of us arrived around 6:30. Long wait standing. Food served at uneven times. Three were almost finished eating, when the next couple’s food was served. After 8:00 my husband and I had our meals brought to us. The others were finished eating as we hurried through our dinner. Very awkward, and disappointing. Won’t be back.

Cafe Mochi is a vibrant sushi restaurant on South Grand in St. Louis, known for catering to a wide spectrum of sushi enthusiasts, from novices to experts. The interior walls are adorned in shades of pink and purple, creating a unique vibe. As we indulged in their sushi, the 2000s good tunes are taking over. I tried the lemon drop roll with salmon, crab, cream cheese avocado, lemon zest, trout roe & topped with white fish, honey wasabi mayo, scallions, tempura crumbs and a crab stick. Protip: add jalapeño for some spice. Peep my yelp chopsticks!

Even though it took a while for us to be seated, the service and food was totally on point!! My 7 year old had been craving sushi for days, so once we tried it here it's the ONLY place he wants to go! And I can't wait
