I can’t rave enough about Bonchon on K St. near Navy Yard! My wife and I had an incredible experience here, and it was all thanks to the outstanding hospitality from Jeff, the owner, and his amazing team. Jeff went above and beyond by offering us complementary iced teas while we enjoyed the outdoor seating area, waiting for our order. Such a thoughtful touch that really made us feel like valued guests!
Special shoutout to Ada, who was attentive and so welcoming, and to the bartender (we didn’t catch her name, but she was working around 1:30 PM on Friday) who made the experience even better. The service was top-notch, the team was friendly, and we felt so well taken care of. The food, of course, was exceptional as always—Bonchon never disappoints. We’ll definitely be back for more! Thank you, Jeff and team, for making our visit memorable!
It was ok for the most part. I didn't stay, just browsing while waiting for a friend.
This place is amazing and reminds me of the Korean fried chicken 🍗 I had while living in South Korea. 🇰🇷
I hate to do this, but not really. Ordering delivery from this location is deceptive. They do not provide delivery directly. They use Doordash, the absolute worst food delivery service. Had it been stated during checkout that they use Doordash for delivery, I would not have ordered delivery bc I always have negative experiences with Doordash. I tried calling the driver he didn't pickup (twice), I called the restaurant, they have NO visibility of the in-progress delivery or drivers contact information. The manager said he'd reach out to Doordash and hung up, he didn't say he'd follow up with me or do anything, so I call door dash for assistance. They call the driver 2 times and it goes straight to voicemail. So I request a refund, I'm placed on hold for a while and then told I have to call the restaurant for a refund smh. So I call the restaurant to find they restarted the order and are trying to send it out via Doordash again!!! Had they followed up with me after whatever they did, I would have went and picked it up. This was all so frustrating and I'm Hangry and outta that money until the refund hits. What a complete waste of time and too much effort on my part. I hope restaurants go back to inhouse delivery.
First time going to this location. Was quick to get in and out. The layout was great for groups or small gatherings. The tv layout was good for being able to stay updated but not overpowering.
This place is great. Great food, the chicken is exceptional! The staff is great. They have a dog friendly patio.
I visited this place 4 times around lunchtime in the past 30 days. This has become my favorite chicken place in DC. Whenever I have a taste for hot (temperature wise), fresh, juicy and perfect size wings, I will come here.
Between 11am and 12:30pm has not had more than 14 customers dining in at the same time. It’s a peaceful lunch environment to eat and have conversations with whoever you’re with.
There has been only one employee working the bar, tables in the bar area and working as the host.
Sometimes it’s hard to get his/her attention.
You can seat your self, scan the barcode on the table and order online. If you have cash, you can place your order with the server.
I love both soy ginger chicken and Korean BBQ, so now I order half/half. Nothing special about the regular fries, twice they came harder and more brown but they come free with the wings during lunchtime, so I didn’t complain.
Delicious wings and great customer service
Manager provides terrible customer service and bartenders hardly acknowledge you but food is good just slightly overpriced
Their portions are large!, their seasoned fries were my favorite, drums were a bit too spicy for me.
Ordered thru Uber eat. Did not get the sauce I ordered a fork or napkins
This location has a new flavor, Honey Black Pepper!!! OMG !
Chill atmosphere..super expensive but excellent treat. Best eaten at the restaurant as No extra sauce allowed as a take away. Reheating is a struggle.
Found this spot looking for korean chicken in DC. It was delicious, but be careful with the spicy because it has a lot of heat. I should've listened to my waitress, I never got her name, but she was very sweet.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. My friends and I were looking forward to eating there and instead of choosing to-go we decided to dine-in. When we placed our orders, we decided in sharing multiple small dishes. I also ordered a mojito that was straight up cheap liquor with no kind of flavor aside from the alcohol. When the food arrives it all arrives one by one which is fine. We were not familiar with the app and we do not work there to have to know what table ordered what. That’s the job of the server/kitchen/management. As we are eating the manager comes over asking why we’re eating things we didn’t order like huh? We came as a group to dine in. Still left a tip even though my drink was nasty. The only good thing was the coleslaw, the chicken was a 3/5, and the service was a 0. We probably won’t come back. Kochix which was our other option has waaay better chicken.
After an awesome baseball game, I decided to hit up Bonchon, just a 5-minute walk from the stadium--a super convenient spot for a quick bite. Even with the post-game crowd, I was surprised at how quickly we were seated and our order taken.
It was my first time at Bonchon, but I'd heard great things about their wings. I went with the soy garlic wings and some fries. Let me tell you, these were the BEST wings I've ever had. Crunchy on the outside, fall-off-the-bone tender on the inside, and the soy garlic flavor was out of this world!
I'm definitely coming back to try more of their menu. If everything else is as good as the wings, I'm in for a treat!
