Ultimately, I enjoyed my experience here despite some confusion due to a language barrier that resulted in awkward seating and being served the wrong order. It was my first visit and the layout of the restaurant resembles a traditional dine in restaurant. I arrived about a little less than an hour before close and asked if they were still seating, after some failed communication, I asked if it was okay for me to sit down and eat. I was soon seated. One of the waiters (I assume) was really kind and offered me some water. I sat there probably for a few minutes awkwardly sipping my water questioning if I was misunderstood. After sometime passed I turned around and asked the host behind me for a menu in which he kindly handed me and settled on the chicken chow mein and cream cheese rangoons! After some more time of sitting there and wondering why no one was coming up to take my order, I started glancing around looking for signs of my error. I didn't see any, so I got up and returned to the host's desk and told him I'd like to order some food. There was no confusion this time and the interaction felt natural, it felt familiar and somehow here it still did not dawn on me that this is a fast food restaurant. You pay prior to receiving your meal. He placed his phone down mid game and took my order while frantically glancing back over at his phone to not miss his next move. I paid and sat down and shortly after the host came up to me to repeat my order so all could be well. Had a difficult time understanding him but my order was confirmed by reading the receipt he was pointing at. Nodding my head and saying yes, chicken chow mein. The next minute I'm rushed a delicious plate that was well prepared and steaming , except it wasn't my chicken chow mein. Back to the host's desk I go. In the end, aside from our funny misunderstandings I enjoyed the food, the service was good and the atmosphere was clean and impressive. Parking: Small parking lot.

I have traveled all over USA and live in Europe. This is hands down the most delicious Chinese food I have eaten. My wife feels the same way.

As a Chinese man attending college here, this is the most authentic Chinese food in San Luis Obispo. Highly recommend, great staff and environment!

Decided to try this place as there are not many Chinese restaurants out here. I had a good experience overall. Upon walking in the staff welcomed us and assisted us. The building its self was beautiful. However, the atmosphere felt lacking a bit. It felt more drab and not full of energy. Granted the restaurant was not full at the time so that could be part of it. I will say I very much enjoyed most of the food. The food came out quick. We ordered the rangoons and they came out hot and crispy but upon biting inside felt it a bit cold. The rest of the rangoons came out fine, still tasted good! I had the egg flour soup (cup) and it was a good size portion for the cup size. Came out hot, flavorful and I loved it. For entrees, we ordered honey walnut shrimp and the sichuan spicy chicken with a side of white rice and fried rice. The honey walnut shrimp came out nicely cooked and covered in glaze. The sichuan chicken was the same except there was the right amount of spice to it. It is one of those dishes where the more you eat the spicier it gets rather than just a lot of heat right off the bat. It allows you to enjoy all the flavor of the fish. Fried is and white rice was good, it’s pretty hard to go wrong or mess up those. The portion size Was normal. My partner says they give a lot. However, I like to eat a lot so I found it to be just right. Overall, enjoyed the food and would like to come back. It’s a nice addition. I feel SLO is lacking good Chinese restaurants.

I feel like this restaurant should promote themselves as fast food. The quality of the food is rushed, has little to no flavor and the atmosphere if dining in is not very inviting. I have only received take-out only from this restaurant, and I have to admit they get five stars for order time and convenience. The food is lacking a lot though, and that comes through every time I've ordered there. I don't think I will return, and I'm so sad that this is one of few Chinese options here in SLO. I miss the days of Mandarin Gourmet. I would put a little love and care into the food, and see what happens.

I ordered for delivery and everything was lousy. Even the chicken chowmein. Nothing tasted very good. And it was expensive. San luis obispo needs chinese restaurants but I hope bamboo bamboo closes their doors and they don't take advantage of any other unsuspecting customers.
