Food is always great, Nostalgic atmosphere, love it. Love the stuffed jalapeños. People who work there are always polite. One of my favorite places .

We drive over an hour to get the sandwiches. Our preference is the salvation and roast beef, both with extra meat. The staff is very friendly. We always order to go but eat a wedge there n take the rest home or eat by the river. Be sure and take a sharpie pen when you go, so you can write your name on the wall. It's been a favorite since the 80's (SWT #1) and still the best sour dough bread sandwich I've ever had. Parking: It's very difficult to find a parking spot whether it's peak lunch time or not. We usually have to park around the corner, but the walk to AO is always nice.

I’ve loved this Alvin ords 10 years. Recently, they’re decreasing the sandwich fillings and increasing the prices :( Delicious as ever, but I can’t recommend this place anymore.

The Salvation sandwich is my favorite. This place always serves up good quality food and food service. It is within walking distance to the San Marcos River and Texas State University.

What happened to the bread?! It was thin and overcooked. My jaw hurt to eat it! It used to be thick and buttery soft but it was nothing like it used to be. It's been years since coming here, I wouldn't go back.
