This place sucks. The staff is disrespectful and arrogant. Special shout out to the security guy and manager who were very ill mannered, flippant and borderline racist. Absolute trash place

Nestled in the heart of the city, this holiday escape, even under a tent, was nothing short of delightful. The festive atmosphere with twinkling lights and charming decorations created a magical vibe. A Peppermint Hot Chocolate spiked with Rumple Minze Peppermint Schnapps, hot cocoa, and whipped cream was a tasty treat, although a bit more chocolate wouldn't have hurt. Great drink options as well as entertainment add to the festive spirit, making it a perfect gathering for families and friends. Despite it being a Monday night, the other side of the garden was bustling with people. Wunder Garten is a must-visit, hosting various events throughout the year, including weekly gems like Trivia. Can't wait to visit again!

The reason for this review rating is primarily safety concerns as I suffered a significant hit to the back of the head from one of their benches through no fault of my own (I was seated and talking with my friends when this occurred). Wunder Garden has a wonderful atmosphere all around, but needs certain safety concerns addressed, primarily their picnic bench set up in their left side area (if facing the establishment). NONE of the benches appear to be secured to the ground or truly level. When other customers moved on their bench, it tilted up resulting in them falling to the ground and their bench swinging to my table area and hitting me pretty hard on the back left side of my head. I, as well as other clientele, were SHOCKED that something like that occurred. This occurred around 10 pm on New Years Eve. Thankfully I work in medicine and was able to consult with one of the doctors I work with to ease any immediate concerns, but there is still the question of a possible mild concussion from the incident for which I was recommended to follow up with a specialist as a precautionary measure. At least, 2-3 OTHER incidents occurred from 11pm to 12 am of people falling from their benches tilting and falling over. Given that this is an establishment that serves alcohol, the seating NEEDS to be more secure to avoid a much more damaging incident than my own, even though my incident should not have occurred either. I am happy to speak to anyone in management if you feel it is needed, but I strongly encourage reflection on this review to create a safe and enjoyable establishment for your customers and staff. Thank you.

I came here for a theme night, and was sorely disappointed. I don’t think you should come here even not on a theme night - food is expensive, takes forever and not good, the drinks are expensive and take forever, staff is unhelpful, and if you’re here to listen to anything on a speaker (like trivia they hold each week), you may need to stand next to the speaker itself to even hear anything. If you are coming for trivia, it’s a paper trivia, which isn’t inherently bad, but the answers are given immediately after the round and no honor checks lol As for the theme night, I attended for a Taylor Swift trivia night and movie screening. Despite the entire place being filled with people wearing Taylor swift merch and clearly excited to “ test their knowledge of Taylor Swifts iconic music.. and participate in a special birthday celebration..” (literally their events words) the trivia had nothing to do with Taylor Swift, and the tour movie was not shown at all. Moreover, the host wanted to end trivia early (?? Why) All in all- I will not be returning and I don’t think you should waste your Uber or SmarTrip money to get here, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in DC that are 80x better (and actually have good trivia)
