My wife and I had an extremely enjoyable day out at the Wine Unearthed event in Leeds with our host Adrian. If you have always enjoyed drinking wine and thought you would like to know a bit more about it, then Adrian has the answers and then some. Not only that, he has fourteen wines for you to try, and some like-minded people to enjoy them with.

Apologies for a very delayed review as for some reason I couldn't login to write it for ages. This was bought as a birthday present for me as I had a light interest in wines and how they are made. It was a great gift idea and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole day and experience were superb. Since then, and largely based on the witty banter of Adrian & his knowledge, I have become far more interested and was lucky enough to visit Napa last week which I probably wouldn't have bothered doing if I hadn't attended this class. So attend this class and the next minute you'll find yourself in San Francisco :) Seriously though, the venue, wines, lunch and whole experience were second to non and I would highly recommend it to anyone as a day out for themselves or a gift for somebody else. Top marks to Adrian and his one liners for bringing the scary world of wine tasting to the reach of the common man and making you realise that wine isn't really made of strawberries, leather or liquorice :)

We enjoyed a fabulous day wine tasting with Adrian this weekend .my husband and I have always enjoyed wine but never had any theory or vocabulary to back up our experience. In a jovial atmosphere ,Adrian introduced us to grape varieties as well as techniques for viewing and nosing the wine before the fun bit -tasting. We enjoyed a two course meal ,with two interesting accompanienents before cracking into the afternoon tasting of red wines. All the wines we tasted were fully explained and available for purchase which I know we will be doing. I would wholeheartedly recommend the experience .

Adrian made the day for us with his vast knowledge and impressive vocal delivery whilst retaining a sense of informality within the group, all of whom were very friendly and interesting. We were both impressed with the diversity and quality of the wines on offer and look forward to working our way through the list! We would not hesitate in recommending any of your courses to friends and family.

What a fantastic way to spend a day. Our very good friend Sandra arranged the tasting for our group and I couldn't have asked for anything better. We had a very small group due to last minute cancellations but what a bonus that was for us that remained. Not only did we get to drink a little more than maybe we should, but it allowed the tasting to be very personal. The venue was great with easy access from the train station. The lunch provided was fantastic and coupled with a nice wine followed by a dessert wine, well what more could you ask for. Adrian was a superb host with a knowledge of wine that us mere mortals could only dream of. The wine selections were great and showed that you don't have to spend a fortune on buying nice wines and even for a small group demonstrated that wine tastes differ from person to person and wines that you wouldn't normally have tried need to be explored. I came away from the day with a far better understanding of wines, how they are produced, the differences between Old and New World wines but more importantly, spent a day with old friends making new friends in a lovely setting with a few glasses of wine. I would definitely recommend this as an experience to have.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my girlfriend who's wine obsessed so I knew she'd love it which she most certainly did! I was personally a little dubious as I do enjoy the odd glass now and again but am in no way a wine officianado and the thought of spending hours listening to someone talk about wine combined with drinking 16 different wines during the day was a little much! However Adrian soon eased my concerns as his patter was light hearted and incredibly informative, the hours seemed to fly by! I soon found myself absorbed in the day and was making notes and rating each wine out of ten like a true pro! By the end of the day I was able to distinguish old world wine from new world wine by taste alone, appreciate the effect tanins have on the pallet, and generally increase my vocabulary and understanding of not just which wines I enjoyed but why I enjoyed them. It was a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is even remotely interested in wine, it makes a great gift that just keeps on giving as you can take the knowledge you have gained home with you and test each other everytime you crack open a bottle. Highly recommended!
