The owner serves outdated pastry and expects clients to pay the same price. When I asked if the piece of cake, standing alone, was fresh she rudely said "don't worry, I will give you a piece from the fresh pack because I know you will come back to complain". Unbelievable!!! I've been a regular at this establishment, despite being poorly served in the past and having issues with an exchange on an item that was purchased the same day (a closed jar of veggie spread) all because I believe in giving 2nd chances and supporting our local businesses. What a hypocrite this owner is, with her fake smile and equally rude mother who is now part of her customer service team. I told her to forget it as I walked out the door, and decided to turn around to tell her she is very rude; her reply was a sarcastic, ''yeah, yeah". Then I see more reviews that say almost the same thing...rude elderly lady, treating clients like thieves, telling us we are taking too long, etc. So, if you see any 5-star reviews, rest assured they are most likely written from the owner herself. Lastly, they cover the counter with a blanket when the store is closed; I wonder if it has anything to do with roaches, just saying. Good riddance, there are several other pastry stores around.
Дуже люблю цей магазин, торти як готувала моя мама, дуже привітна продавчиня.
Amazing service, great food
Great pastries and a great selection of cakes in the heart of Verdun! Love their sernik. The staff is always helpful and welcoming :)
Always good service and delicious fresh pastries. My fav is cheesecake, my son's fav is donut with cream. Highly recommend
I have to tell me experience because it was so odd. I don’t think this is a certified Wawel store… I’ve been to other Wawel stores in Montreal, this one has left me speechless. When I went inside the shop, there was no-one greeting me. There was no plum donuts, just a few products on the shelves and a few cakes in display. Then 5 minutes later, an elderly lady came out and I smiled and told her I want to get the cake. She looked at me in annoyance and returned to her cash. I was left confused and wasn’t sure if she understood me. So I came over to her and spoke to her both in English and French, but she was just standing there and staring at me, I was so confused and uncomfortable. Then she mumbled a few words and went to the back of the store. I just left the store questioning what had happened…
Best bread and service in town! Will definitely go there again.
