I visited Water Street yesterday (3/12) with my mom for dinner. We have lived in the area for years but have surprisingly never eaten there before. We loved it! The staff was friendly, our server Megan was great and was very knowledgeable about the menu items. She recommended we try the citrus calamari so of course we got that and it didn’t disappoint. For our meals I got the baja bowl with blackened salmon and my mom got the fish and chips. All of our food tasted fresh and delicious. I look forward to coming back during the summer when it is warm enough to sit outdoors.
Service was mediocre. It's very large inside. Music of some sort was being set up when we were leaving. We might give them a second chance because we are locals.
Nice place but they never hit it out of the park just ok . The best I ever had was the prosciutto and Arugula pizza. Parking: Machines to get parking tickets are a pain.
Great food and fantastic views!
Tried to come here on Saturday, September 18th, but due to Food Festival, no parking. Last Thursday, September 23rd the tide was high and roadway was a little flooded, but it was open and Lunch was a go. Kit and I shared some Bavarian Pretzels with cheese sauce and a very large Water Street Salad. For our meals, Kit had a Turkey Club and I had a Cheeseburger with side of coleslaw. All was good but a little pricey. Photo of the River Boat known as the River Lady is a dead ringer of the Sandy Hook Lady.
This place varies dramatically by day and season. It can be packed on the weekends in summer, or nice and quiet during the week in winter. Food is consistently good and the premises and view are quite nice. I wouldn't bring kids here on a busy weekend evening. I prefer it off season but if your looking for a good place without crossing the bridge in the summer this has water views and plenty of seating. Parking: Can be difficult when busy. Overflow is the OC Library parking garage, which requires you to cross Water St. Kid-friendliness: Not as much in the later hours. Some risk with water close by if the kids are runners. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp, not too steep.
Nice place to hang out....
Nice place. Good food and drinks.
