Very busy so plan appropriately. One of the best restaurants in the city for Vegan foods. Dietary restrictions: Strictly Vegan, but all the best things are ;) Kid-friendliness: Dont have kids, but if i did i would bring them here gladly. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible but parking may be a concern. Would say, gove it a try because the food is worth it.

Gluten free and vegan all day everyday. Been eating at Viva for a long time and we always love it. Seating is limited so on market days there might be a wait. Edit latest update is that the food just keeps getting better. We stop here often just for dessert, so yummy! I love love love the carrot cake and snickerdoodle cookies!! Hope this helps someone out there. Edit still as good as ever! I had the cookies and cream cake with coffee this evening, mmmm!! Edit again, the food is better than ever. The bean burger was so legit!

I can eat here and have absolutely no concerns! The food is always very good and the desserts of course LOL Vegetarian options: For someone with Celiac disease, like myself, having a restaurant like Viva's is a life changer as far as being able to eat out without fear of gluten contamination. I just wish there was one closer to us in Puyallup Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Vegan

I would only recommend this place for someone who is a true vegan and is used to vegan fare. I had their nachos & didn't care for the substitutions they made for the dairy elements. It wasn't horrible, but just not to my taste. I'm betting that a true vegan would find it very acceptable. Dietary restrictions: Gluten & lactose intolerant folks will do well here. But not nut sensitive people. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs wide maneuverability.

My wife and I are vegan and live in Tacoma so naturally we love that’s there’s an all vegan restaurant near us. The food at Viva is very good. We’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and it’s all done well, the desserts are especially good. Unfortunately the service and operation of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. We are regular customers and we’ve had to sharpen our ordering tactics to ensure our experience is actually tolerable. For instance, when dining in we pretty much know what we want before we arrive so we can order immediately. Have to do this because irrespective of whether they are busy or slow you will be waiting for your food for over 30 minutes no matter what you order. We used to order appetizers first while looking at the menu but we order everything at once because of the wait. The servers get so busy and they are not attentive, some won’t even look in the direction of your table so it’s really impossible to stage courses. Don’t get me wrong, the servers are friendly just hindered by a slow kitchen and always seem short staffed. Online pickup orders are also a challenge. The pickup window timeframes are completely unreliable. I was given 20-30 mins today and when I showed at 30 mins after I ordered I waited another 15 mins. While they confirm your order they don’t text or email when it’s ready to be picked up so you have to gauge off their timeframe that is always wrong. Unfortunately we’ve had issues with wrong orders so that is even more frustrating in addition to the initial wait when you have to wait to have the order corrected. In summary, the food is great but the service and experience leaves a lot to be desired **Update** Disappointed that Viva has done little to improve their customer’s experience. The service continues to be subpar and I’m baffled that others give such high reviews and remarks on the service. At the price point there should be higher standards for the service. We have eaten here numerous times and the service and time to get our food is always disappointing. I am astonished at the number of 5 star reviews and comments on the great service, are we eating at the same place? The service is so consistently poor that I must question the validity of all these 5 star reviews. Feels suspicious to me. Also feel that the menu is very stale. As a vegan I don’t just want typical food that non-vegans eat prepared as a vegan. Sure, do that to pull in non-vegans but put some more thought into to original, creative entrees, and healthier options. I believe the folks at Viva believe that serving plant-based food alone makes it “healthy” and that’s not necessarily true. Most of the options on the menu are not what I would describe as healthy.

They have some really great tasting gluten free menu items that you cannot find elsewhere. Their deserts are wonderful too!
