View 202

It's a little warned, but itbwas nice

Went for lunch, had fish and chips and shrimp tacos for mains. Calamari and edamame for appetizers and the best part of all of it was the fries. Services was horribly slow, had empty water glasses and waiter took our food to another table. Overcharged us on bill. Nice view of the mountains and a homeless camp. Will not be back, do better.

This visit had a couple issues. We usually devour the pesto dip that is normally served before the main meal. This time, we had to ask for it and when it finally came, the pesto dip had no flavor! I don't know how this happens? It's pesto! The bread was good. 2 of us had the black garlic tortellini, it wasn't horrible but just too salty. The kids enjoyed their pizza's, the teenager loved his linguini with chorizo and shrimp, and my daughter seemed to enjoy the tuna tartar. The service at view 202 is generally slow, in part that they are short staffed...I think...the other part is to let you eat at your leisure and they don't rush you. Sometimes, it's a little slow to get the things we need. Overall, we still love View 202.

BEWARE for the hidden "CC Fees". The manager told us it was posted in front, but nothing in sight. Despite the long wait times for food and the subpar quality, the manager said the owner charges a 2% credit card tax on all customer bills. Also, when I received the bill, my charges were $168. Then my AMEX sent a message saying they added an extra $10. So the hidden fees were added AFTER the initial bill. Damn ya'll, even ARCO charges only $.35 on debit. Filed a complaint with the BBB. Chicken sandwich was straight grease, salads were overloaded with dressing and charcuterie plate was $33 with two types of meat with cheese. Half of that was definitely from the gas station down the street. No thanks. 1 star for the owner not hiring more staff to help. 1 star for the owner trying to scam people. 1 star for food.

View is beautiful but they seem to have a problem in kitchen. Three times ive been there ordered med burger never been close. Ladt time ordered calif burrito. They burned it black. Love the view though

Are about 8 year old not going to View 202,do to lack of service, I saw a post on Social Media about there Happy Hour. So I decided to grab friends and give it another try. Mistake on my part. After waiting 10 minutes to be great at the hostess station, we still were not seated. Finally a nice bus boy seated us on the patio,( that was only 1/3 full, w/an empty indoor restaurant). We then proceeded to sit at the table with no acknowledgment form anyone for 45 minutes. As we watched other tables being sat after us, receiving drinks and appetizers. Still with no service. Finally a person at our table got up, went and found a server and asked who was to be taken care of our table? as we would like to order. Once are ordered is taken it takes longer than expected for 3 simple appetizers to come out. As we continue to watch new people being seated and receiving drinks and food before us, even with our order being placed before them. Never were we offered a refill on water. Could barley get a 2nd Drink. I would recommend the Orange Glazed Edamame & the Strawberry Shipwreck! The Tuna Tartare is underwhelming and the Tropical Scallops we not good.for everyone at my table this is the last time we will go to View 202. We left and completed our night at a different restaurant with amazing service and food.

The view at this place was spectacular. However, the service was slow, and food was not worth the price.

One of the better spots in Redding, great view, good food and service. Definitely a must try if you're in town.
