The chairs are awful. Probably won't go back just because of the chairs.
I just want completely happy with the food or the experience here. It's fairly average food for an average price, so don't think that in complaining, but the are better restaurants in Vancouver for about the same price. The service wasn't great, I try to get three cups of coffee with my breakfast but it seemed like I had to work to try to get two and still couldn't get a second cup. There were two young men working the dining room and they just seemed not very interested in checking in with us after bringing our food. I probably won't be back.
The food is excellent. Pricing is reasonable. The atmosphere is good, nicely set up in an older house, making it very cozy. The service was my issue. All things service related were slow. No refills. Didn't get toast (which was included with my meal). Server never checked back to see how things were. Silverware came after the food. Eggs were cold, and it took too long to pay. I had to ask for a copy of my receipt. When the topic was addressed with the server, he said "honestly it wasn't my fault." He blamed the kitchen, the owner, anything but himself. They did need more help, but they did seat us. Therefore, there is some expectation of service. He finalized our conversation by saying, "It doesn't matter it's my last day here", it's unfortunate because this place has potential, but without proper service and help it will just be mediocre at best.
We got in and sat down right away, very nice waiter. We got our orders in fairly quick then the food came out. We ordered for a family of 6 and everything came out at the same time. One persons food had a hair in it but they quickly replaced it. Food was very good. Parking: They have a place to park behind the restaurant but it is very cramped.
This little cafe is the cutest Cafe in the food is amazing and the staff is so friendly and all family. Family-owned and operated.. LOVE IT. TOTALLY RECOMMEND..
Our first time here we were hoping it was good. I got the eggs Benedict and fruit the eggs were waaaaay over cooked. I the sauce was really good also. My husband got the chicken fried steak and fried potatoes he asked for over medium eggs and lightly toasted white bread. Eggs were also waaaay over done and toast was Burnt. We told the waiter and he had them remake my food and he said he took my meal off the tab and gave us 15% off. We got the 15% off but still paid for me meal which is fine because I eventually ate half of it cold.. hopefully other people have a better experience here.
