Food is fantastic! They have seaweed substitute available. Large selection of yummy sushi, even a all you can eat sushi bar. Parking: Had to go around the block 3 times to find a spot to park.
I had the special Seoul roll and it was delicious! Our server was delightful (I think he said his name was Justin). He recommended the shishito peppers and they were tasty.
Kid-friendliness: We had fried sushi crab rolls & rice.
I went in on a Sunday I had an absolutely amazing experience, the two gals working behind the bar Christina and Savannah their service was top notch, I’d recommend anyone stopping in there if those two are working!
This place has a poor atmosphere, especially for sushi. Blaring bright lights, cafeteria-style tables and chairs, feels like fast food sushi. Service was disorganized but not the server's fault; seemed more like a systemic issue. The food was just ok. Portions are very large, which is nice, but again, it came out feeling like it was rushed and not at all authentic. The rolls aren't that creative, and literally all of them have some kind of special house terriyaki sauce, which is annoying if you want a traditional sushi roll. My sashimi salad combo had squid in it, which was not indicated on the description and I would have never ordered had I known- only after taking a bite did I know I was eating squid/octopus, which I strictly don't eat. It's located in the storefront of one of the new 6th Ave big box buildings and the vibe reflects that. Don't come here for a date night or for an intimate dinner.
The best sushi I’ve had in Tacoma
Love this place, was going there years ago when it was the old little building, food was great and still is. Great selection.... fantastic food, good prices. Service was OK. Beautiful new building.
Trappers is good. We have been many times and hard to say it's the top sushi ever, but it is good for the price and they even have some all you can eat options.
Good sushi, good happy hour prices. Service charge for eating in, mandatory tips for table of 6?? My bill was messed up, double charges, missing stuff. Will be trying elsewhere
I LOVE Trappers but this location has some issues. They consistently say they’re “too full” to seat when half the Restaurant is empty. If they’re short staffed, they shouldn’t run specials that get more people in if they truly are struggling to staff at regular times. I love this chain but this location is lacking.
