My friend and I went to Townehouse and were served in the Shebeen. We were served by luciano and had a wonderful night. we laughed and had wonderful drinks thank you so much.
Couldn’t ask for a better bartender than Poppy In a crazy / hectic atmosphere she’s extremely attentive and is always very personable She also makes a damn good old fashioned!
Do not recommend. The server was good. Drinks were okay. They give you a kids cup for bloody Mary's. I ordered a long island ice tea and it was not a long island iced tea. The food was edible but not great. It smelled funny slight when you first walk in and near the bathrooms smelled like dirty mildew mops. If you want good drinks and good food for a weekend brunch do not come here.
Overpriced microwave food. I ordered fish and chips. The breading on the fish was soft and soggy. The fries were soft too but they were still crispier than the breading of the fish. It was also disappointing that the only IPA on tap was the 'Townehouse IPA'. It felt like Applebee's with a yuppie atmosphere.
Went here (Shebeen at The Towne House) for a nice birthday dinner. It was anything but. Waiter was perfectly pleasant but could not read the room and didn’t have the general flow of table service down. We were the only people there and the food took an hour. Our appetizers came out minutes before our food and then they tried to take our apps when the entree came out…we’d barely touched them yet. My steak wasn’t just underdone…it was cold in the middle and clearly uncooked. They redid it (which took fifteen minutes) and it was inedibly well-done. Nothing was offered or even asked why we had barely touched anything on our plates. Ridiculous for a meal that was $152 before tip for two people. Never again. The atmosphere was quite nice but beyond that, a waste of a night. Bonus Anecdote: the waiter came to take drink orders, and I ordered one of their specialty cocktails and his response was “two of those for you guys?” I don’t know why he would have ever thought that ordering a drink meant we both wanted the same drink. Weird start to the experience.
