Toasty Arepas

You have to try Toasty Arepas! I have nothing but glowing things to say about this restaurant. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, as were the staff. Service was fast and friendly and they offered good suggestions for what to try. Best for last; the food was incredible!! Mouth-wateringly good. Everything was fresh and delicious with big portions. My party included someone from Colombia who said that this was the only Colombian restaurant he’s tried in Canada that he really enjoyed and felt the food was on par with back home. They even gave our table a small sample of a sort of amuse bouche while we waited for our mains. Just a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to go back.

Le service laisse beaucoup à désirer, juste un petit restaurant sans plus, les prix, très cher et pas beaucoup les portions. Pour les prix qu'ils chargent, ils n'ont pas l'argent pour mettre le chauffage, on doit rester avec nos manteaux sinon on gèle, les cuisiniers portaient des gants qui ne changeaient pas, ils touchent tout et c'est la contamination croisé. Vraiment pas un bon restaurant, on ne sait pas si la nourriture est venezulien ou bien colombien, il n'avait pas des clients et cela a pris un éternité pour être servi. Première et dernière fois que je viendrai, je ne le recommande pas du tout. Parking: Impossible de trouver une place proche

Overall amazing experience. Exceptionally tasty food and fantastic atmosphere. Great gluten-free options. Everything we tried was very tasty. I would recommend the Cachapas. Vegetarian options: Many choice selections including a vegan friendly protein Dietary restrictions: Everything on the menu is Gluten-free with the exception of the Empanadas Parking: Loads of parking on the streets around the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Lots of space

First impression, I love the set up and decor! But what hit home was the lovely folks that were taking care of me and my friend. We were served with delicious Colombian coffee while looking at the menu by a sweet older gentleman. Then our orders were taken AND prepared by such an energetic and friendly fella. The food was phenomenal! I dared to say, the empanadas were as good as the homemade ones that my Colombian friend's grandma makes Oh and the yuca fries + plantains, I need more of them in my life. The portion was so big, I went for lunch and didn't need to have dinner that day. The friend that I was with was raving over the chicharron, so you can guess what I'm going to have next when I come again.

I came here and they told me I have to wait 15 min to place my order because there was only one person working. And he was working on a table of two, I had a table of 10 people in front of me, how long would’ve had to wait? 3 people left before I decided to leave as well. Perhaps on another opportunity I get to change this review for a positive one

Es un lugar súper rico, literal te sientes en una tienda en Colombia. Precios justos, comida rica, atención excelente. En general muy rica toda su comida. Vegetarian options: Hay la opción de comer una arepa vegana. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free.

Update- Seating is now more than suitable for all kinds of customers. This please is a hidden gem! DELICIOUS and LOADS of MEAT in the arepas. I hope that never changes! Try the Yucca fries. I was hesitant not knowing what yucca tastes like, but they ended up being very good. Great cilantro creama as well! I wish this restaurant was open later for late night takeout (they close at 7 ) 4/5 stars only because the in-restaurant seating wouldn’t have held me. I’m a heavier person (250+) and didn’t have any seating options while waiting (only flimsy folding chairs). I recognize however that this is a very new business and they are just getting started. I’ll continue being a take-out customer, however look forward to returning in person and updating my review once seating is improved in the future. Vegetarian options: Great veg empanada!
