Tim Hortons

I was recently at their drive thru. There was a homeless man (Probably around his late 30s or 40s at the drive thru trying to know how much amount does his Tim Hortans gift card have. There was a security guard beside the drive thru window talking on his phone. The employees did not want to attend the man and I can’t deny their behaviour as it is downtown and not safe. The man asked me if I could check his gift card. I said I could and also offered to buy him a coffee. He denied to get a coffee or anything from me but requested to just get his card checked. I got his card check and gave him back with the information he needed. I bought my coffee. The employee attending me told me “We are not allowed to do this as per my manager.” I did reply that I got it checked for him as my card and you can check my gift card. She said no we can not do that and that i should stop shouting at her. I told her that all I am trying to do is explain her that I am the customer she is attending and was not asking her to interact with the man. The employee asked me to leave. It would be understandable if the employee would have a reasonable argument about it. Maybe if I help the man he would wander around Time hortans. Though I do not think that would happend but I could be wrong about it. Me and my friend work as shelter workers in downtown. We do get that most of the people are scared of the homeless people around due to obvious reasons. But working with them made us realise that all they need is some respect and help from us. I am not saying that everyone including the employee should interact with them and there are protocols. But if someone is helping them they should not be so reluctant about it. They should understand that a little help or even a smile could really make their day. They have all the right to be around as long as they are not causing any issues.

Most people who work here are most tired. I dont why but one of the girl always stare at people. I dont know if she dont know how to smile.

It would be nice if you were open later than 6pm, but I get it ❤️

This comment is specifically for “Kanchan”. There were two other associates one of them wore glasses and other lady was around 30s whose names I can’t recall now. These three were the only associates who had wished me back. Rest of the associates had just shown me the attitude and never replied back. Nothing wrong against them. I have just a suggestion. If someone greets you saying Good morning, How you doing, How is your day going on or Thank you. Please have some respect to respond.

Staff here are friendly cordial and remember you. I love going into a coffee shop and the barrista knows what I like before I ask :)

No one ever greets except couple employees from evening shift , mostly they are busy talking to each other instead of serving people inside. You wait for 5-10 minutes just to get a coffee which is not fresh or is cold.
