We visited Ripon for one day and stopped here for afternoon tea for two, it was very nice (good scone and cake selection, I really liked the courgette and lime cake). We enjoyed the atmosphere and decorations.
Been a few times, only had cake or scones and tea but very nice and not too expensive. Good to see the old wattle and daub walls behind glass, gives a feel of being in a very old building. Overall can’t complain about anything
Called Tuesday 26th March - afternoon. Gorgeous, atmospheric little cafe! Built 1605, lots of beams etc. Lovely friendly staff. They seemed to know their regulars but were just as friendly to first time visitors. Quick service. Lots of choice of cake. Very busy. Big turnover of customers. We had passion fruit cheesecake and sticky ginger. Might be tricky for wheelchairs - but I feel the staff would do their best to accommodate anyone. We will definitely return when next in Ripon. Yes, I would definitely recommend
Lovely historic cafe with a great atmosphere. They make locals and visitors very welcome. Great cakes and a huge choice of meals as well. Such friendly and helpful staff. We always call in when we are in Ripon
Lovely little café, they managed to squeeze me in for half an hour before a reservation for a bite to eat and coffee. Seems like a really important community asset as the servers know everyone by name; would definitely be a regular if I lived locally!
Lovely food prepared to order. Good variety on the menu, many of which can be made gluten free. Friendly staff, although not the quickest service (but it's a small kitchen). Daily specials make it hard to choose! Dietary restrictions: Menu items clearly marked for those that can be GF and the staff are great and will help guide you. Several GF cakes to pick from!
Had a excellent meal ,panini for wife and a prawn salad for myself. Both of good quality, cafe was busy but staff made everyone welcome. Great if you like cheese
