Can't fault our stay here at all. The hotel has been renovated and it's been really well done. We chose a double room, which faced the main road, but wasn't noisy at all. Our room was spacious, clean, with tea & coffee facilities & TV, the beds were comfortable. Buffet breakfast is included and was extensive, all the traditional fry up items, toast, fruit, yogurt & patries, or you could order special breakfasts at extra cost such as eggs benedict. Check in was smooth, staff were very pleasant. We also met up with a group of friends and spent time in the pub area and had an evening meal & drinks. Everything was cooked fresh and was delicious! I had a red lentil & chickpea dahl, which I really enjoyed, my husband had the ginormous fish & chips and said it was one of the best fish & chips he'd had. The batter stayed crispy to the last bite. Another friend had Bang Bang Pheasant which he said was great. Alcohol prices were pretty reasonable too. Overall we had a great experience and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel to our friends and would definitely stay here again. The only teeny minus was the free hotel carpark was very small and full... BUT, to be expected at such a popular area, and there was a huge public carpark across the road which cost just under £9 for the full day.

2 nights, first stay. Very impressive decor and detail. Lovely room. Staff friendly. Disappointing vegetarian options and sadly pizza we had was VERY poor, base over cooked and topping under cooked! Limited parking, expect to pay £8.50 for 24 hours in public parking, NO free parking on road after 1800 as staff suggested. Dog friendly but would prefer they are only in an identified area. Despite all this we'll be staying again for excellent location and facilities. If food improves then will be an excellent option. Rooms: Lovely decor but had to ring company before booking to clarify all rooms are ensuite as advertising didn't clarify this Nearby activities: Excellent location for steemers or public transport. Wonderful walking for any ability Food & drinks: Pricey £4.50 pint of lemonade. Disappointing vegetarian options Noteworthy details: Very nice outside seating area with stream alongside

Great hotel in a great location. The car park is very busy though and spaces aren't always available.

It’s the worst bar I’ve ever been to. Firstly the bartenders are super rude and they refused to give me a drink because they thought I didn’t look like the photo on my id. But the funny thing was that I already had a drink by that point. So it was very confusing for me and I get it that they don’t want to serve someone who they can’t verify, but I already purchased a drink and it was very stupid for the same bartender to refuse me a drink like literally 20mins after he verified my id in the first place. I was so pissed off. Don’t go to this place ever. Food & drinks: Worst drinks ever and very bad service.

The website indicated a refurb but the room was a little tired. Struggled to get a hot shower and quite a drafty room. Breakfast was a buffet and didn't keep all the cooked breakfast hot. We chose not to eat evening meal in the hotel having seem numerous terrible reviews. Would not choose to stay here again.

Rooms: We could hear the family next door and their very nosy children for the majority of the time we were in the room. It was very warm inside. However, opening the window was an issue because it let in all the noise of the traffic from the street outside. There was a fan provided, which we were certainly grateful fir.

Can’t speak to rooms, as we didn’t stay over, but definitely to food and service. My family and I went for dinner and really enjoyed our food, and thought these were reasonably priced considering Lake District prices. Food was great, we appreciated the range of food on menu. The location is lovely, and the refurb looks great. Also we left an item of clothes by accident, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, we were able to retrieve the next day.
