I took my wife there for our third anniversary and it was amazing. Our server Kelsey was a delight and she share some information about the building and some of its history. Definitely will be one of our places that we frequent when we want to treat ourselves.

We arrived at the Tarratine club at 5:45 we ordered at 6:10 and didn't receive our food until 7:55, anybody who ordered the steak well done got medium and anything else tasted like it had been under a food warmer. The only thing good was the waitress who was very good at her job.

We went for our anniversary while on holiday in Maine! This was listed as a good hot spot on Reddit and we were very excited to try it. The host greeted us with a happy anniversary. The server was fantastic and quick to offer help and suggestions. The menu has lots of options for those in need of gluten free, dairy free, vegan and or vegetarian options which is amazing. Overall, we were so impressed with our dinner and the service. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Vegetarian options: Large menu is vegetarian, vegan and gluten free and dairy free! Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options

I've been here twice: once for dinner and once for an event. Everything was wonderful both times. The food is good, the space is unique, nothing bad to say!

Wish we hadn't waited so long. Finally made it for brunch. Everything was spectacular! The food was so good! Awesome service, very nice, upscale atmosphere with beautiful decor. Plan to make this place a regular stop on our list of places to go out. A+++. On a side note, the classical guitar player was very good, too. Go out of your way to try this place. So worth it.

Amazing place with amazing people! I called to book a reservation for my boyfriend’s surprise bday dinner and it turned out more than great! I asked if we can be in a private area and they accommodated! I asked if I can bring a cake in and have it be a surprise when we’re finished with dinner and they did it! The food was excellent, service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was magical! After dinner we went to the game room and played billiards! Really a unique but fantastic experience! Will definitely go here again!

I've been in this industry 22 years, I've lived and worked in Bangor, and it is NOT known for it's amazing restaurants. While such establishments do exist if you seek them out, few make you feel like you being truly catered to. I may have found the exception. When my mother invited me to dinner at Tarratine, I was skeptical to say the least. A nice place to eat? No "2 for 20" menu? Impossible. Talk about expectation subversion. Located near the heart of town, it is nestled on the side of a hill, with beautiful architecture and a waitstaff to match. With the offer of complimentary valet parking, and a friendly, if not busy host stand, walking in feels like something out of a Hallmark movie. Warm lighting throughout and and large area rugs give the impression that you are there for a meal with your rich in-laws. After our appetizers, our waitress had to leave, doubtlessly a victim of med school or some such college aspiration, and was replaced by the acting bartender. Both were lovely, and attentive as one can be whilst handling a bar and dining room simultaneously. The scallops, while cooked like one who knows what they are doing, were underdone, although flavorful and well plated. The calamari with feta and kalamata olives was a real treat, creative and surprising, it a clean plate when finished. My mother had duck for the first time, a dish I have made many times in my life, and could not have asked for a better execution. Like my filet, the duck was cooked perfectly and plated better. Chef Riley plated his dishes in a common manner, not a boring one, and know that the guest eats with their eyes first. The creme Brule, while flavorful and well presented, lacked that warm, sharp crisp at the top, a rare flaw in an otherwise steadfast kitchen performance. I certainly recommend this pretty, homey, welcoming establishment, and urge those working here to not see this as a critique, so much as a grateful offering of my thoughts on a beautiful evening.
