We saw the excellent reviews for The Sultan and decided to have dinner there our first night in Cardiff. As we sat down, we heard the family at a nearby table exclaiming about how wonderful the food was. It turned out they were local and that night was their third visit to the restaurant this year ... and every trip had been memorable. We took some of their advice and ordered the beef skewer appetizer along with the ortu kebab (a Turkish version of lamb pot pie). Both dishes were incredible! The beef was tender and well-spiced. The lamb was beautifully savory in a broth rich with peppers and onions. I added the side dish of bulgar directly to the skillet containing the lamb so as to soak up every drop. If you find yourself near the Mermaid Quay in Cardiff, definitely stop by The Sultan for a meal.
Went here last night with my mother. Incredible service and beautiful food, even brought out dessert for my mums birthday, really great place
The breakfast platter was really good. Well presented and fresh.
The food is so delicious and the presentation is even nicer.
1st time, won’t be the last.
Good service and delicious food but prices are high They have nice breakfast platters for sharing And varieties of options in the menu The British breakfast has the best price comparing to the dish portion which considering quite big for one person
One of the best places in Cardiff in my two-days trip. The food was delicious and the service was great. I declared my dietary restrictions and ate mixed kebab. They even served me starters on the house. 10/10 . Dietary restrictions: I declared my dietary restrictions and they helped me choose.
Very nice food, very cordial waiters and a brilliant, ambient atmosphere
Nice relaxing atmosphere with beautifully presented authentic Turkish food. Friendly staff. Definitely be back. Thanks Sultan
