Had breakfast with my girlfriend and have to say the service was good but the food wasn’t. My blueberry pancakes were extremely bland along with the scrambled eggs. I wanted to like the place based on other reviews but don’t. Won’t be back here.
Stamford best kept secret says it all. My words can do no justice if how great this place is.
Major upgrade since they replaced city limits. First time since the switch and far better food.
Went here for the 1st time with my family as a large party of 11 on Sunday October 20th 2024. We entered the restaurant, told our name to the host, and had to wait a while for them to set up a table for us, and for some reason they wanted the whole party there to sit us. When about half our party arrived, we were sat quickly. While we were waiting, we noticed that they had lots of desserts like carrot cake, red velvet cake, rice pudding, chocolate cake, and various other delicious looking desserts! It is a busy diner, and not that easy to find parking, but we drove around until we found a spot. This restaurant was also featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, drive ins, and dives tv show. we saw a banner outside the restaurant. Restaurant gets really busy, but they do have a lot of tables, and a big restaurant. Server was also very nice and patient with us. Could have checked on us more, but that can be hard to do if busy. I started with water and chocolate milk, and got waters for the table. i believe someone also had orange juice. Also coffees. For breakfast, i decided on the Oreo pancakes, a couple of people got the spinach omlet which came with potatoes, someone ordered french fries, got toast, and most of us got omelets. Food also came at a decent time, and pretty much all at once for the same table. Oreo pancakes were very good, only thing was is that I prefer my toppings inside the pancake, and this was mostly on top of the pancakes. Still was delicious and i enjoyed it! Even the potatoes were good, as i stole one from my dad. Another favorite was the omelet which my aunt said was flavorful and enjoyable. Restrooms were also very clean. We paid via credit card and left a cash tip. Would definitely come again if we were in the area!
The food was very good. The service fast. Our first time in this diner, I totally recommend it.
We tried steak with eggs, breakfast quesadilla and a omelet.
We really like going here as a family. Even though it was crowded, I feel like we barely waited and the service was very prompt and efficient. They kept it movin. Food is great as always.
The owner or manager are garbage they are stealing the tips for uber driver that’s why my order get so late.! And any uber driver I meet I will tell them not take any order for THIS DINNER I hope all Driver see it this note
Pleasant experience.
Good service, good food and atmosphere
One of our favorite places. Always good food and welcoming people.
Excellent, authentic diner experience with lots of great dishes. Warm, friendly, professional and attentive service. Highly recommended!
blast from the past atmosphere, with mediocre food and high prices.
It could have been worse, but probably will not return.
The food was great and when i visit my family in Stanford. I will come back to eat.
Great food, great service, convenient location off and on I-95 in Connecticut at Exit 6.
Ordered delivery to my in-laws’ house through Grubhub. However, instead of using a Grubhub driver or one of their own employees, the restaurant hired a driver through DoorDash—a completely separate third-party delivery service. To do this, they used some or all of the tip I left through Grubhub to cover the DoorDash fee.
Since DoorDash takes a portion of tips as profit and only pays their drivers a base rate, the driver likely assumed they didn’t get a tip. This often leads to frustrated drivers, which can cause delays and poor service. In my case, the food arrived late, and I had to tip the driver again to avoid further issues.
The restaurant shifted delivery costs to me even though I had already paid a premium for delivery through Grubhub, including a delivery fee and tip. This kind of practice violates Grubhub’s rules and creates a bad experience for both customers and drivers—exactly why it’s not allowed.
TL;DR: The restaurant used some or all of my Grubhub tip to pay DoorDash, a different service, instead of passing it to the driver. I ended up with late food and had to re-tip the driver, despite already paying a delivery fee and tip through Grubhub all to save a little money.
The restaurant is very clean, the staff is very attentive and the food is delicious! The portions are big and made hot and fresh to order.
