The Polo Club

I love to visit this place whenever I'm in Bangalore because of its vibe, but this time I was disappointed. My go to order is selection of teas and I was shocked to find they are serving below par quality of tea despite the brand 'Oberoi's'. The Darjeeling tea I ordered was in no way Darjeeling and I enquired to check that maybe it's a mistake but they insisted that it is Darjeeling. My friend ordered a mango lassi in which unripe mangoes were used. In the previous order of beverages as well, the teas served were of sub par quality. Coming to service, the staff was cordial when spoken to, but we had to wave everytime we needed anything in the span of 3 hours we were there. They completely ignored to look at us and we had to wait 5 minutes for them to see us each time we needed anything. This never happened to us in our previous visits and we always had fond memories to take back from Oberoi's. So all this was a bit of a shock to me. I expect premium quality of food/beverages and service when I hear the name Oberoi's. Not what I experienced this time.

Terrible Mezze platter. Hummus was stale and other things tasteless. Service slow and not good. Papaya salad was ok.

There are few better places in India to have a drink and a bite to eat than the Polo Club at the Oberoi, Bengaluru. My friend (who lives locally) and I go every time I am in town and it never disappoints. Once you leave the madness of MG Road and cross the lobby into the lush garden setting, a feeling of tranquility envelopes you. The setting is great for sure and the drinks well prepared but it is the staff that makes the Polo Club a truly unique experience. We were helped by the the new and capable Arsh and it is always great to have Sweety on hand. Mohit, whom we have seen on many occasions in the past, has transferred to a different function but stopped by to say hello. They are all great but the real treat was seeing Dhruv again. A year ago he was a trainee and was very nervous. Just a year later and he has turned into a total professional. If you fancy a drink and some bites there is no better in Bengaluru.

Great service

Wonderful evening at Polo Club. Service was fantastic. Kshitij and Mohit were attentive and gracious. Great recommendation with the Pulu cocktail. The new menu has improved the offerings to elevate the already indescribable experience of sitting under the trees at Oberoi Bangalore. Can’t wait to enjoy again soon!
