I am always on the hunt for good Jamaican food. I found this place a week ago, on Saturday. We ordered to go: oxtail plate and curry chicken plate as well as 2 beef patties and shared. The beef patty with the cheese was good, but I prefer the traditional without cheese. They were crispy and fresh.
The oxtail were good and tender, but not the best I've had - the flavor was a bit off - my friends agreed. I really enjoyed their festival!!! I could just eat them. I love cornbread and it almost gave me a southern cornbread feel.
The curry chicken was the star! I wish we had gotten more. It was tender, seasoned to perfection. I can't wait to get it again. This was some of the best curry I've ever had...and I've traveled to Jamaica!
The roti was good too and held up well for leftovers.
Upon entering, you could tell they were a bit busy and had just opened, but weren't very warm and friendly. The mom just worked around me and didn't really greet me either as I stood there waiting for my order to go. The new owner (son in law of the original owner), eventually spoke to me and we had a great conversation. His wife packed my food and became a bit more friendly. They weren't rude, just not very warm. However, the conversation with the owner changed my service experience. I would definitely go again and I'd even try thr oxtail again. But I likely wouldn't need to having found such good curry.
Also, rice and peas were great. Vegetables not too seasoned, but balanced well with the flavors of the meat/sauce.
My order was ready on time. Parking was sparse. The curried goat was not as moist and soft as I'm used to. The festival was good. The peas soup was delicious.
This restaurant wasn’t as nearly goods as some have said. The chicken tastes baked , the cabbage was bland and the rice was dry. The only thing that tasted good was the festival bread. Yeah this was my first and last time eating here.
Kind people, the sort of food you can tell that people put their heart and soul into. Super yummy. You must.
Coleys has been delicious for years, and their newest location continues the tradition of making amazing food!
Came for 2 plates of oxtail togo. So good!!! They have a bunch of fresh juiced juices. I got the passion punch and sour sop. Both are amazing. Oxtail was amazing. Festival was perfect! Everything gooooood!
stopped in for the first time to grab some lunch. Saltfish and Ackee did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back and try everything else.
Downhome cooking fit for any reggae carnival. Jerk chicken is rich and full flavored. Slow cooked heartiness. My new fave place.
