We heard about this place on social media & it looked really good. We drove 50 mins to visit because of the hype. Unfortunately we were disappointed. I’ll split it out for easy reference: Restaurant itself- nice period restaurant- would class as rustic. There is no parking so you have to chance you can get parked. Service- we waited 55 minutes for our food. Replacement drinks were slow as was glass collection. Food- extremely disappointing roast dinner. I had beef which was nice but slightly chewy rather than slow cooked. The old cutlery couldn’t cut it properly. The roast potatoes were very undercooked. Green beans we pretty much raw. The Yorkshire was dry and burnt. The cauliflower cheese, pigs in blanket and gravy were lovely. My daughter had a chicken roast and thought the chicken was delicious but didn’t eat the rest. All in all it was very disappointing and we wouldn’t return or recommend.
Visited at the weekend with family and enjoyed a superb meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff friendly. I had a delicious halibut dish for main followed by scrumptious rum baba dessert. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic, what a great find. Right on my doorstep, only half an hour from Northampton . Me and my wife had lunch. Great food, service, and friendly staff . Brilliant pudding and special homemade chocolate from host for lateness of dessert. Will be going back for more. Yum yum
Lonely meal with great service

Great evening out with friends. Guinea Fowl paired with the Rioja *****
Good value for an excellent meal very well cooked and served that’s not over fussy but really friendly. Will return and recommend to friends Dietary restrictions: We are intolerant of garlic and it was not a problem
Excellent Easter Sunday lunch. Most enjoyable and good size portions. Good service.
