ZERO STAR RATING ! 5% Reduction on An £800 Bill !! Table of 4.Unedible main course, all sent back As a Restaurant with high ratings and michelin listings in various foods guides, Together with the owner Chef in the kitchen I am Not Sure Which Part of serving FOUR Unedible and uncuttable meat course as the Main Part of a tasting menu with wine pairing night evening (We all had to send them back to the kitchen un touched) A 5% reduction on An £800 bill for a table of 4 Very poor food and service. No alternative was offered to us. An overall poor Performance , Attitude and atmosphere from the Owner & Manager, well below advised standard according to their Web site When myself and wife went back too the Lighthouse to speak to the owner and head cheff, Jon Hardy and Restaurant manager Louis., they were not listening to our concerns. about the evenings experience, In Fact Started making Faulce Accusations about my conduct during the evening. Unbelievable.

We attended The Lighthouse for the first time for my birthday dinner and was not disappointed! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and relaxed. The staff were friendly and personable as well as informative and professional. The tasting menu we had was the Short Spring menu and it was fantastic value for money at just £50 for 6 courses. Whilst some of the portions are small; we certainly left more than satisfied! Quality over quantity is key here and the food was just amazing. With locally sourced produce, it really reflected in the taste of every course. The spring pea & mint veloutè was just incredible along with the wild garlic oil and foccacia. This was one of my favourite dishes of the evening. The chilli & coconut broth I could have had on tap and the kfc style shimeji mushrooms with satay sauce was so tasty and moreish. The true showstopper for us both though was the beef dish. The fillet was beautiful and cooked to perfection; and the beef cheek tartlet was divine with a pastry that just melted in the mouth. Every bite of this menu left you wanting more. We paired our meal with a lovely bottle of barolo and finished with a cocktail and a local, single batch whiskey which went exceptionally well with the petit fours. The Lighthouse really is a hidden gem that I'm so glad we've discovered. Thank you to Seth who served us, the lovely lady who's name I have sadly forgotten who made my beautiful Espresso martini and told us how happy a work place it is, and to everyone at The Lighthouse who made our incredible meal and gave us amazing service. I especially loved the box to put my handbag in next to my table so it wasn't on the floor, it's the little touches after all! We will be back. If you like good food without the pretentiousness that can accompany some fine dining restaurants, you will not be disappointed!

Myself and husband went for the tasting menu, most of the food ok but the fish dish was tepid at best as was meant to be warm, the staff were polite and helpful. When the bill came there was extra drinks on it that we had not ordered had to go to the manager to get that sorted. That night both myself and my husband had very bad stomachs which took a good 24hrs to pass. After contacting the restaurant we was told nothing wrong with their menu and must be a bug we have. I thought it was a very off attitude of the restaurant. It’s not like we was hoping for a free meal as wouldn’t go again. We go all over trying different restaurants and this is one we wouldn’t revisit.

Amazing Michelin starred restaurant out in the countryside. Food was presented lovely and with 7+ courses, although small, I wasn't left with an empty stomach. Although on the slightly more expensive side of things, the whole experience was well worth the money.

The Lighthouse, another superior restaurant. Our table was the kitchen observation seats . The team work in the kitchen was outstanding, the concentration and dedication to preparing the dishes was one to watch. The front of house staff worked in line and were very informative on what you were about to enjoy.. TOM, (Shepheard) when he explained the wine selection and why was outstanding. We will be back and would highly recommend anyone to visit. Another fabulous night!
