The Lift

This place has the flavors of an underground tortoise fight club in an early 1980s Lithuanian viešnamyje and festively embellished with pretty betchun multiverse atomic age jazz groups.

This is the place that was the place over a decade ago & is now filled with aging alcoholics holding onto their former lives, still preteding they are cool. The owner is a creep. Like, next level creep who no one should support ever. Sound quality makes it a pretty terrible venue. Would only recommend if you like supporting terrible people & hate being in a nice & clean environment.

Unfortunately the conduct of this business is disgusting. The company was refusing to give customers their cards back due to "losing" the iPad they were charging from. When I went back up and asked I was blown off like it never happened just trying to get my card back. The way that they treat customers that aren't regulars will be enough to make you not want to go again. They will blatenly ignore people trying to inform them of what their employees are telling their customers.

The Lift in Dubuque is excellent! Great staff, the bar is fun and has it's own style. You're in the heart of the best part of Downtown. If you're in Dubuque you should visit The Lift.

Best burgers in town! Dietary restrictions: If you have any dietary restrictions, this is ur place! Parking: Just hand your keys to the valet behind the bar.

Acoustics are terrible. Sound bouncing off of stone walls. People yelling to be heard over the music. Not a good place to relax, have a beer and listen to a band.

I think your experience at this bar can vary greatly on your age. I think in my early 20s this would've been phenomenal, but now in my 30s I think I might try other watering holes.
