Tasty but very expensive food. Tiny portion of Fries with steak. By 8pm had run out of Rib Eye & Sirloin steak 2 nights in a row. (It's called the "Acle Steakhouse"??!!!). Charged for a fillet steak but pointed out I was given a Rump steak. Offered refund of difference if I came back the FOLLOWING NIGHT !!! My friend ordered prawns for a started and they were so overcooked he struggled to separate any flesh from the shell. The nearby Olive Tree takeaway is 10 times better @ a fraction of the cost. Food & drinks: Overpriced Steaks & small side portion size of Fries. Overcooked Prawns.
Lovely local pub / eatery.
Was a lovely pub, staff was polite and food was big portions
Visited the Kings Head during a vacation to Norwich recently . Bought a bottle of Coors 330ml and a cup of tea for £7.90.When asked the Coors was £4.40 and £3.50 for the tea (a cup of hot water with a t-bag and a small jug of milk). Both of the cheaper draught lagers were unavailable, only the dearer wheat beer and I forget the other beer that was available at well over £6.00 a pint.A real rip off don’t go here everything is overpriced and there was no one in the pub.Should have realised. The Coors wasn’t even that “cool.” Probably the fridge was not on like the lagers.
Pub grub at a really expensive price. We wouldn’t return, purely because you can get better food elsewhere. The lamb burger and chicken burger really were mediocre. Whilst writing the review the waitress came back to the table to say the payment had gone through. Even though it had. We would have had to pay twice if we hadn’t proved the payment.
Service was great, the waiter was very attuned to our needs, I am on a low fodmap diet which can be very restrictive when eating out. The restaurant had loads of different options, substitutes, all clearly labelled. Great if you’re gluten or lacto free or vegan. Atmosphere was chill and quiet enough. Big portions and good value for money!
Great hot food , friendly staff good price.
Excellent food and the service was out of this world. If you come try the rack of ribs
Little bit lacklustre on service, more food oriented, lacks atmosphere.
We came last night as a family of 10 to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious and the steaks melted in the mouth they were so tender. Our only regret were the chips. They were pale frozen french fries. The quality of the steak and every thing else was let down by them. You really need to serve hand cut chips which would enhance the meal so much. The young lady who served us was friendly and did a great job serving us and looking after the bar on her own.
