The Ivy Cardiff

Lovely meal for a special birthday occasion. Tried the set menu which provided us with a great menu taster. The duck (separate to the set menu) was also really lovely.

It was OK - neither bad nor outstanding.

Service attentive and professional. Food fantastic. Venue lovely, but we felt it was let down by the casual eating area at the front. We arrived dressed for a special celebration and were shown to the casual area, despite booking and specifying. We'd made an effort for the occasion and wanted the section to reflect that.

I can’t decide which was better the food, the service or the decor. My crispy duck was absolutely delish but I think my husband’s exploding ice-cream chocolate bomb dessert gets the Oscar for pure drama.

Outstanding meal in the Ivy. One of my favourite places to eat.
