The Highfield Restaurant

Had a lovely brunch there. Mega mixed grill, as I was a tad peckish. Definitely recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed. Really nice food and lots of it. Staff are very nice, service was excellent Kid-friendliness: Play area there, keep the little ones occupied.

Ordered food which was cold. Ordered deserts & drinks. Deserts came & had to wait over half an hour for the drinks to arrive. When I complained I got told the app was playing up. My response was well I got my deserts. They had nothing to say. Very bad experience. Shame really

I find it hilarious that a waitress called Bonnie has reviewed and given a 5 star on here. Her customer service levels are awful, maybe a new career path would be a good idea. But the rest of the staff are really good and are trying. Missing items on plates, cold horrible food served. But not all the food was bad. And I've been before and had good food. Just needs to be consistent and servers to check what they are bringing out and avoid issues with customers. And the kitchen staff to step up.

Today was the 2nd time in 7 days myself and my wife have eaten here, the first time my wife's mushy peas were cold but they brought out new ones straight away and it was fine, today when we went back my wife had the fish and chips again and told the woman serving about the last time and this time she made sure that my wife received extra mushy peas and that they were hot. The food was absolutely fantastic and delicious and the service was 2nd to none. Will most definitely be going back.
