I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in which friend's can spend time with. The food is good too.
Ate the buffet there every day for lunch. Then today the lady working the register seen me and my friend walking up to pay and told us she'd be right back, she then returned with the owner, and he literally stood behind the counter and watched me pay to see if I tipped the waitress ( I didn't, and never do, because it's not manditory.) Then after I signed my check, followed me out of the restaurant with one of his cooks, STEPPED ON THE BACK OF MY SHOE BECAUSE HE WAS TRYING SO HARD TO CATCH ME, and confronted me about why I don't tip his waitresses. If he's that worried about his staff making money maybe he should pay them better.
We are from out of town so of course this local restaurant would not be what we are used to… and that’s exactly what we wanted. This place was recommended to us from a local. I will say when we first arrived the smell is amazing and we were excited. It’s a small town vibe. Cute. The waitress was good. We ordered food off the menu. I’m not going to recommend that. The Philly cheese is tasty but unless they were out of regular bread it is the smallest Philly I’ve ever had. My sister got the steak sandwich…… if you are not working with your original teeth I don’t recommend you throw down with this grizzle beast. Grrrrr. So I am reading all these 5 star reviews and at first I wondered if we are reviewing the same spot… we are. All the 5 stars seem to be on the buffet (I did not get. Wish I had. Buffet and salad bar looked good)
So, for those of you not familiar with the Hearth, it's been a staple in Martin forever. However, shortly after COVID, it went the way of the dodo. Later, it reopened, and everyone was excited, but that was short-lived. The prices were unreasonable and the food just wasn't great. Well, they are back again. And this time, it's a WIN! And you can tell too. Sunday afternoons, this place is packed. And for good reason. The food is great and for what you get, the prices are reasonable. Most everyone eats the buffet. They do have a menu with all the normal options. With so many there, the food is always fresh. It's almost like family lunch again. I say give it a try.
Food wasn't good. Hamburger steak was tough, and tasty was bad. Bake potatoes were very good. Service was bad, had to ask for everything, never checked to see if we needed anything.
