The Good Son

Came here with my friend to try their brunch menu. Initial impressions: Service: Very prompt, we were seated very quickly, service staff pointed us in the directions of the washrooms before we were seated since they were made aware of the fact that this was our first time dining here beforehand, which was nice. We had our orders taken quickly and Recieved them equally as quickly in spite of the restaraunt being busier than usual at this time. Atmosphere: For a Sunday brunch, you can't go wrong. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxing and especially compliments the winter weather as everything looks very old fashioned, rustic and traditional. It's a great place to gather with friends, or to go on a date with your significant other if you so choose. Food: We ordered the Eggs Benedict with salmon, and their shrimp brunch menu item. The eggs benedict dish was very nicely cooked. The eggs were poached perfectly, and were very fluffy which complimented the sourdough bread and salmon option that I chose very nicely. The salad was slightly over seasoned with balsamic vinegar, but that can also be an acquired taste. The potato wedges were crispy, very well seasoned and delicious. No complaints there. The shrimp dish was presented very well. The tortilla shells were crispy and delicious, and did not get soggy in spite of the sauces on top. The ground beef was well balanced and seasoned and cooked very well. The shrimp on the other hand was a bit too overseasoned for my liking, and tasted quite a bit salty. Overall a very satisfactory brunch experience!

I've been a regular at this place for a few months. Pop in a couple times a week. I'm a software as a service developer and I loved the place so much I asked them if we could hold a 3 persons founders summit at the restaurant. Only 3 people but we needed a private space. They not only provided that private space but the service, attention and patience (because we occupied that private space for 3 hours) was impeccable. We got a lot of stuff done. The food was fantastic. The service was out of this world. So...if you want to meet with business partners, clients, prospects consider Good Son at Shops on Don Mills. You will not be disappointed! Love this place for both pleasure and business. Go there!

Had the jerk shrimp, calamari and braised beef brisket! Food was amazing, great service and atmosphere! Definately eating here again soon!

My first visit to the restaurant at this location (I've been to the one on Queen). Same vibe (great atmosphere) same quality and attentive and very fast service, would definitely recommend for a dinner out.

This just became one of my favorites for brunch. Even the caffe Americano is on point Whenever my partner and I eat out, we don’t care much about the cost unless we’re really not satisfied with the food. Here, the food was awesome, the ambience is spectacular.

I've been frequenting this place in Shops at Don Mills almost weekly for the past 6 months. Why do I keep coming back? There's a few reasons. Amazing menu. Incredibly great food. Very cool environment. The ambiance is both friendly, fun and sophisticated without attempting to be ostentatious. Mostly though...it's the people. You go there once...you go back the second time & you are treated like family. This kind of service in today's world is rare. Want that experience. Check out Good Son at The Shops at Don Mills. Do it once and you'll love it. Do it twice your engaged. Try 3 times your married. Very few restaurants have the whole package nailed. Good Son absolutely does. ❤

Lunch was excellent, brussel sprouts app incredible. Their pizza game is on point. Service attentive but could have been a bit faster during a few moments.
