Lovely place. Attended for a funeral wake. Very attentive and lovely staff

Attended a wake here. Lovely old building but be careful of the uneven slope in the bar/restaurant area. Food was delicious with both a cold spread and hot food being brought round, nice touch. The only quibble I have is the organisation of getting a drink at the bar. One lady on the till only (she purely took the money) and two making drinks which caused a long wait and a bit of chaos. Everyone commented what a strange set up it was. Parking was limited and a bit difficult to manoeuvre but then there was a lot of patrons at the time. Didn't see the rooms so have given 5 stars as I assume they would be of the same standard as the rest of the building. Garish paint colours bright red and green in the bar but it sort of worked even though its not to my taste. Nice garden area with benches.

Food & drinks: Went for Sunday dinner today. Very disappointed !! Beef had Fat on When mentioned to the "Manager " she said well cows don't like diets! What a awful attitude!!! Both waitresses on the floor didn't really know what they were doing! One waitresses was more intrested in playing with a pink balloon for some reason! Colliflower looked like it had been thrown at a wall before it was plated up. Hot desserts were cold! And charged extra for cream and icecream on the side! When asked why it had changed its standards, the waitresses said owners are selling up, and didn't even know their names! Never will the 4 of us recommend or eat here again!!

Lovely friendly pub

Me & my partner went for Sunday lunch today as it was a recommendation from a friend unfortunately the staff were absolutely awful really didn't care as for the food well meat was fatty & lack of vegetables, unfortunately in a nut shell would never recommend or go back !

Cosy place with a good menu and excellent service, my only comment would be that the food was a bit salty for my tastes but we'll definitely be back.

Normaal schrijf ik niet zo snel een review, maar voor dit hotel maak ik graag een uitzondering! Prachtig mooi hotel gelegen midden in het Engelse landschap. Het eten is heerlijk en de kamers zijn meer dan prima. Ook het zeer vriendelijke en attente personeel verdient een groot compliment. Op mijn volgende reis naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk boek ik hier zeker weer een overnachting. Tot snel! Groet, Thijmen
