Just had lunch in here on a wet and windy day. The burgers were the best we have had in a very long time, absolutely excellent.
Cosy pub. Food simple and good enough. Little shop out back with ice creams. Lovely location. Kid-friendliness: Take care with small children as on the water
At this establishment the staff are extremely helpful and very friendly and the atmosphere was very good not just for the locals but by passing trade . We will be returning there again as it's a great local pub to have a chilled experience out Wheelchair accessibility: Side door entrance for wheelchair access also offers a good clean disabled toilet
Sunday Roast, meat served warm/cold and for the price wasn't enough vegetables
I know we visited out of season but the welcome left a lot to be desired. Staff didn’t want to make conversation and looked very scruffy. Food was poor, the chips had definitely been cooked in oil that obviously hadn’t been changed for ages and the burger had a funny taste to it, not convinced it was beef. Definitely won’t be visiting again.
Ok I think it's important to sum this place up, food is great! Not the cheapest but large portions and considering they close for a few weeks a year the prices make sense, not the cheapest but very good. Atmosphere is quiet and reserved, if they turned the music up a touch I think that they'd be surprised how much more pleasant it could be. Service / staff, tattooed girl behind the bar was lovely but the rest of the staff really need a lesson in hospitality (a smile makes a difference and costs nothing) they were very stern looking as if they'd trod in something unpleasant. At one point we had 6 empty glasses and 3 empty bottles, 3 members of staff having a chat but noone came and collected. Go for the food but don't expect much from the staff!
We have been coming here for years but will not be returning again. The previous time we were here the owner was very angry and shouted at me because a dog had gone in to the kitchen and she presumed it was mine but I don’t even own a dog! The chilli today was extremely dry and even burnt in places and the rice was in a solid block. Don’t expect them to bring your cutlery as they just tell you where to go and fetch it from! Nobody came to ask if the meal was ok and even though we made allowances because the weather was very warm the staff were certainly not friendly. The table was sticky and the outside furniture looks very tired. One of the ladies loos is still out of action and has been for a long time. I was also going to leave this review on their FB page but seems that they have turned this facility off, what a surprise!!
Not very many choice of beers most ales where off. The prices for other drinks where extortionate prices. Seems a shame as the pub it self is located in a lovely place.
