Very limited gluten-free options. Not even gluten-free bread with the breakfast dishes which would be super simple to offer.
Love the food. Be aware the chicken is wonderful but easily enough for two. Excellent.
Our server Reed, was attentive and made my daughters and I feel so comfortable. My eldest even inquired if he had kids! Alas he didn’t but he was a mentor for the Big Brother program. Now to the food! Deviled eggs, scallion corn bread, fried chicken, french fries and ceviche is what we feasted on. It was a lot of food, had plenty to take home to the husband. The food was delicious and flavorful. The ambience and service were top notch and welcoming to be with kids under 12. Both of my girls kept saying “They are so nice here!” Will definitely go again. Kid-friendliness: Both my daughters felt so comfortable! They kept musing on how nice the place and server was. It was the best restaurant experience they’ve had this year by far.
Quality ingredients, artistic presentations
I have eaten here many times and generally had above average experiences. However, after a recent experience at brunch, I will never come back. I love a good Kale salad and before booking brunch at The Dutch, I made sure they had one on the menu. When I arrived the paper menu advertised a "Farmer's Salad" and listed the first ingredient as kale. I ordered with the waiter and I didn't actually say "Farmer's Salad" but rather, I said "I'll have the Kale salad". 20 minutes later when my dish arrived, it was a salad of basic mixed greens and no kale. I immediately asked the server what happened to the kale and he basically shrugged and said "oh we use mixed greens in this salad now". It would've been nice to mention this when I ordered it or admit that he'd made a mistake or offer to take it off the bill. A few minutes later a manager came over and offered a vague apology and proceeded to blame "corporate" for not making website and menu changes fast enough. Nothing on the bill was comped and quite frankly both the waiter and the manager came off as rude and unconcerned, as if a customer who orders salad as a meal deserves this type of treatment. Not having the ingredients to make a dish happens all the time and shouldn't be an issue if the server communicates properly, but in this case I was left feeling like I was the one in the wrong and the interaction essentially ruined my day. The table next to ours even noticed and said that they would've thrown a fit. I don't hold brunch service to a very high standard, but this was horrible. The worst part of it all is that I love this place and now feel that I can't ever come back. So sad...
